So, I'm in the thrift store....

Cruising the local thrift store looking for a potato peeler and walked up on this little guy. Its a Crate BX-50 in like new condition. Didn't take much thought on my part, I gave the guy the $99.00 and walked out with it. Took it home plugged it in and it sounds great. Nice little combo, other than dust, its like brand new, not a scratch in the tolex at all.

I also found a potato peeler for .49 cents.

It was a good day.

Good score. I was at a Goodwill store some years ago, and saw a 115 Sonic cabinet, (covered in rat fur no less), which I would have no interest in, but an aluminum dust cap caught my eye behind the grill cloth, (as I was about to pass it by). I don't recall what I paid for it, but it was likely less than fifty bucks. I took it home and opened it up to find a nice vintage JBL D130 inside. I donated the empty cabinet back to the store. Same store, I found two pair of brand new Beyerdynamic DT 770 headphones for ten bucks each. Also a real nice Squire Protone Stratocaster for $125. I bought a Dynaco ST70 vacuum tube stereo power amplifier from St. Vinnies for $9.99! I have gotten many other really good deals at these stores, I visit them a few times a week.

Nice find! I love the thrift stores around here. Got a nice Crate guitar amp for $30 not long ago, and have a couple of guitars that I’m gonna refinish and do some upgrades to that my daughter found at a thrift store for $10 each. One of them is actually pretty nice to begin with, but somebody put stickers all over it and ruined the nice wine red finish.

Nice Crate. I had the much earlier B-60 and needed it out of the house. I figured it being old, heavy and well, a Crate, I might as well keep the price pretty low. I offered it for $20 on Craigslist.

When the guy came by to pick it up, he looked at it and immediately insisted I take another $10

You paid too much for that potato peeler. Should be able to find one at antiques malls/flea markets for about 25¢.
