So... my Mom died...

So sorry brother. Hang in there.

My mom will turn 64 this year. A couple of years ago, she went to the doctor just feeling blah and feeling like she couldn't breathe right. They x-rayed her chest, and it showed what essentially looked like tons of freckles on her lungs. They were tiny blood clots. Her mother had the same issue, but they didn't find out until the autopsy. One broke free, shot up to her brain, and caused a massive aneurism which immediately burst. My mom was 12 when her mom slumped over at the kitchen table while they were playing cards. Obviously, I know the full story. She called me while she was in the hospital and told me what they found. Instant tears. She said she'd be fine, they were putting her on blood thinners and everything would be fine. But, I know that what she has is the reason I never met my grandmother. I'm 44 and not ready to not have a mom. Don't know if I ever will be, but it's not up to me.

I can only imagine what you're dealing with, and it's probably worse than I can imagine. Sending lots of love and warm wishes.

Cherish EVERY moment. Don't let a single opportunity to tell her you love her slip by.

It's a heartbreaking thing to watch a beloved parent gradually slow down and then falter completely. No matter how much you prepare yourself for it, you can never prepare enough. Godspeed, man. May your mother rest in peace as she lives on in your loving memories of the times you shared.

First, my apologies for not responding sooner. Been sidetracked with random affairs and whatnot.
Secondly, my sincere appreciation to all of you for responding with support and care. I knew it was a good group here. You have made this somewhat easier. Lots of good advice here.

Third, I will attempt now to return to the normal world of "Which bass is better" threads, and try to put this business behind us all.
It will not always be easy. But, I vow to try.

My sincere thanks to all of you, and the others who responded through PMs and such. You guys rock. :D

Now...

I like flats. Opinions why I'm wrong? ;)

Hey, man, first off my heart goes out to you. My mom passed away on January 14. Unlike your situation, my mom's passing was totally unexpected. One day she was fine the next I'm standing in a hospital feeling like I took a brick between the eyes. The fact of the matter is that's mom. There is never going to be anyone else that can fill that void. There are no words to tell you everything's going to get better. Life just slowly returns to it's normal pace. You WILL hit moments when something you see, taste, smell, hear, or feel will bring back memories and you'll be overcome. Don't hold it back. Give yourself the time to grieve and let your pain take it's natural course. Grief is very different for each person. There's no right or wrong way to do it, but you need to let it happen. Like I said, I'm still working through my mom's passing, so I know where you're coming from. If you need to vent, shoot me an email or pm. May your family find peace in God's grace. Love to you and your family.
My Mom left on January 27th. I could have written your post. Whenever I'm feeling too caught up in it all, I think of her smile, and smile back. It helps.....

No, man, I don't troll for box anymore. I'm married.

Cute avatar btw. ;)
Me either, "watching *****s walking by, with hungry eyes....". Actually momma takes pretty good care of me. :)

I liked that little box-troll as soon as I saw the commercial. Sort of an animation version of my former avatar, Lurch from the Munsters. lurch.jpg
