Agreed. Snaps, crackles, pops and all.Love vinyl.
Still, I feel vinyl is far and away the best archival medium for music, and the most sonically satisfying.

What do you guys have for playback?

I had about a dozen of those but they got wiped out in the my last move about 2 years ago. Somebody took the box out of the back of my SUV and set it on the ground for some reason. Needless to say, I backed over it and completely destroyed every last cylinder. Oh well, that made all the others out there that much more valuable.I even have some of these Edison Cylinder Records but I never had a player for them.

I wish you were closer to me, I'd have a look at your collection, possible take a few off your hands. But Colorado is a tad too far to drive for me.I'm considering selling off all my vinyl. I have stuff from the 60's 70's and a bit from the 80's. I never play it, never take it out of the cabinet it's stored in.
Why?
Too fragile, too easy to damage, too big, takes up too much room, and my CDs sound just as good. I spun records as a radio DJ for years, and the fragility of vinyl was demonstrated to me many times. I'd take a CD any day.
I have many unusual, collectible vinyl records in different shapes, colors, picture discs, etc. Here are some.
