When I have saved up for a DB751, I'll never have to buy gear again.
Sandberg VM4. 22 frets. Super light and ultra comfy neck. Road worn aging feels like it’s been played for years. Sounds great!
Honestly? I've owned a lot of pedals, but I've sold them all because I just can't get them to work for me (figuratively). I'm just a "bass and amp" kind of guy.......provided you don't become infatuated with pedals
Kudos to those who make pedals work, I personally just can't.

Santa brought me a storm. 17" and counting. At least I don't have to go anywhere today. But I'll have to snowblow tonight. Weather - 9 & 10 News
Also at my work Christmas party Friday night I won the raffle which was almost $400. Gave half of it to my gf since she helped me buy the tickets. Took my $200 and got something for everyone in the family.
When I was shopping I found another guitar stand at Goodwill for $5. At long as I can get stands at a faster rate than basses, I'm good. I did get 3 from the side of the road once, but gave one to the stepson at the time, and one to my daughter. I got one at the Goodwill this summer but it came with a Kramer P bass copy attached, so I got no further ahead.

I am not into pedals, either. I hate the connectors, I hate the necessary tap dancing, which tries my coordination.
Plugging straight into a powerful, versatile head going through an 810 cab is what does it for me.

I got a nasty lung infection on the 23rd that I'm still fighting. Seems I turned the corner on it, though, so there is that.
As far as gear? Nada.
My wife and I do small presents for fun, she got me a Talk Bass cap and some Pakka wood spoons, no not switches.My wife and I stopped gifting each other a long time ago concentrating on the kids. Since my wife has the week off we spend it doing staycation stuff instead.
However, a few days ago I ran across a shiny new Hofner HCT Galaxie bass that Amazon graciously sent to me.
I only did it because your wife is so pretty.
