I love Nordstrand pickups but that's got to be the worst marketing blurb I've seen. Total gobbaldygook. Keep the copy writer away from the acid next time ok?

I understand completely, but if I loaned you one of my basses with them in it, you might kick yourself for waiting to try 'em. Once I gigged a 5'er I built with them in in, I placed an order for a set for one of my 4's.
That's great to hear, because I love use big blades because I have string spacing considerations to battle all the time...
Are they modern and complex or more classic? ... like my big blades are in the 'classic' neighborhood of their big singles
If, by "classic", you mean not extended on the high end of the frequency spectrum, then they're a bit more modern, but ....not ice-picky.They have, for me, the perfect amount of articulation - I don't have to hit the bass hard or hold back to get just what I want.

I just tore all of the electronics out of my Ibanez SRMS805 and installed a pair of Zen Blades. How do you have them wired? I am going to install two push-pull volume pots so that I can switch them between series and parallel to experiment with their sound. Are you using 500K pots or something else? I'm learning about all of this and it is fun. When I figure out what I like, I'll wire it that way and simplify it all. But for now, it's a bit of complexity for the sake of fun and learning. I also have the Darkglass tone capsule, so that should be fun, as well.
I have a Fender Aerodyne, and I was curious about the Nordy Tone Drop. If I install a Nordy NPJ Blade Set in the Aerodyne, I might consider their tone drop. But most people here are more concerned with the description than how it actually helps them sculpt their sound. I came here to hear if it's any good or not!

Yeah, gotcha. "nothing" meaning the rolled off tone and the dimed tone are too similar, there's no range. So I was planning on changing cap but more likely going to up the value while I'm under the hood. Currently 500 V, V and 250 T, I'm sure there's a good reason for that but I don't know what it is. I am not sure the capacitance but I know how to find it. That's why I asked. Is it a decent option? I had a P with a Tonestyler that I liked years ago.
500k or 1M tone would be the way to go. one thing i like to say: it's relatively easy to dial back some brightness while incredibly difficult to add it to a too dull signal
Ummm the rolled off tone is distinctively different on bothered settings. All the way on it's like anything else. What I like about it is it doesn't go to mud on either setting.
Tough room, jeeze. They've done similar in descriptions of pickups. The point is that most MI marketing crap attempts to describe things that can't be described. They're taking the piss. That, and making fun of 'cork sniffers' and 'scab pickers.'
I don't mind marketing fluff. I think it's the best part of a lot of pedals. I'm usually able to pick my way through it. Just in this case I know what a Tonestyler does so I was trying to guess what this does. Anyway, it's time for me to fix a cocktail.
Relax people. Nordstrand has a lot of fun with their descriptions. It's almost like a spoof on those crazy reviews you see on Amazon.
