So who does NOT have a VT Bass?

Never heard of it until this post. But then again, I don't care much for pedals. I own a Boss pedalboard that hardly sees the light of day (I use it for covers that call for a specific effect, and its compressor is decent).

I have one but its been taken off my pedal board, I use it sporadically nowadays. Now im a flats only player they mimic the bulky sound/setting I used on the vt bass so why bother keeping it on the board? I sometimes lend it to our guitarist as it sounds great with a 6string running through it.

Hmm. This got me thinking. I too have an svt full stack I've had for many years and love. Nothing else sounds like it. But its just not practical for some of the smaller stages I'm playing on now even though I do pull it out on occasion. I really dig my Gk setup and its nice making one trip from the car to the stage, but I miss that huge and full sound it has. Enter the vt. It kind of gives me the best of both world's at times. I'm doing covers, and the nice grind from the Gk works most of the time, but with a flick of a button I can get pretty close to the fullness of my Ampeg. Its not the same but it gets close. Some songs or passages call for a different sound than what I have dialed up with my Gk, and the vt pedal gives me another dimension to get that done. Just a thought.

I had and absolutely LOVED Sansamp when I had Kustom Groove 115 combo.
This setup kicked a**es - 600W, 1x15 and THAT sound.

But when I bought my first Ampeg, which was B200R, I realised... wow, this amp does the same, but much better. Sweet, full sound WITH MIDS!!! Wow!

Then I got 3pro - it was even better at "being close to sansamp" sound. And also had many, many more useful sound options.
Now I have PF-350 and SVP-PRO preamp. And no bass sansamp can match this rig.

I simply can't stand Sansamps mid scoop. Sounds amazing on rounds, but with flats ... low mids and high mids are almost the only freqencies I have left - with Sansamp I feel that there is nothing left ;)

Had both v1 and v2 and used it for over a year as my always on tone shaper but now I'm planning on getting darkglass vmt for that purpose - to add vintage vibe and tube like breakup to my gk rig. VT's great and colors the tone quite a bit and I'm looking for something a bit more natural sounding and easier to dial in.

To the OP: I used a Para Driver for a bit (I know it isn't the same), but didn't care for the distortion flavor. Since I'm not into the SVT thing, I never tried a VT Bass. But I know Tech21 makes quality gear.

After all, PROFESSIONALS WITH GOOD BASSES USE EM ALL THE TIME! (google Geddy Lee's bass gear)

And it got worst (IMO) when the Deluxe version came out. So I ended up sorta hating it, basically 'cause it was a fad (I have an eternal thing for the underdog, what can I say...).

I still go against all fads (...). Nothing against the faddish pedals per se. It's.... visceral, I guess. I have a PBDDI, if it ever dies, I might give the VT a run, just because it's a Tech21 product.

If you guys stop talking about it, I might eventually buy one.
