So, why buy from Greg @ Rocket?

I've never bought anything from Greg, but I can say this sponsored forum is the most active, open and friendliest on TB.

That alone has made me a fan.

There's one sponsored forum where the business manager got pissed because someone asked a question he didn't like.

I've not spent another dime with them since that time and my spend was over $3000 at that point...

the more I read the more I like!! glad Im getting my first Roscoe through Greg!! :hyper:

Is that you, Al? I thought it might be given your location. :D

Al traded in that lovely trans-black Lull M5 that ended up in Florida with JBFLA.

Lots of great stuff happening here lately, guys! I should take a moment to thank all of you!!! It is indeed a pleasure to serve you all, even just to hang out with you all online. I love my job!

Nice score Jim! That is a nice Lull. How's it sound as compare to the Roscoe?

Joe, it's a different beast from my 3 Roscoes; they're all Roscoe Bart/Bart pre.

This is my first time with Nordy's and Aggy pre. With the addition of the coil tap and active by-pass it's very trad Jazz sounding; throw in all the other stuff and, well, I'm still working my way thru them.
Other stuff being:
1st knob - Volume-push/pull for Active/Passive
2nd - Blend with detent
3rd - Passive Tone Control with push/pull for coil tapping when up, Hum Canceling when down
4th - stacked bass/treble
2 switches- One switches between 400hz to 800hz mids. The other switch turns off the mids completely.

All the combinations have good results - I lean towards a few more than others - but I'm still experimenting.

I still prefer the Roscoe B string tho. Seems tighter (more taught?); that could be the strings - they're SS and I prefer nickle.
Can't bring myself to dispose of a nearly new set of strings. Must be the Scot in me. The Irish in me says "ahhh, screw it".

Jim, take off the strings and I will give you a pair of DR Nickels, send me a few pints of Guinness to Cape Cod and I'll gladly pay you back this winter when I visit Jupiter. I, too, have Irish and Welsh heritage in my lineage. :D

Congrats, Bro - I love the look of that bass. Off the record- no other bass of mine (Lull or Modulus) can hold a candle to the "B" string of a Roscoe. Truth can be painful sometimes. Enjoy bro.

Hey Pete!

These are probably at least 5 months old and I don't know how much time was put on them prior. It's good to try new stuff anyway.

OT - Friday I had a chance to meet with bassmanbob (Roscoe owner/forumite) at his band's gig in Stuart. We'll have to have him bring his gear next time you're down here too!

mo' Roscoes = mo' fun
