For a small scale example of what elevation does, grab a little transistor radio and turn it on. First place it on the floor. Then place it on a table or the rung of a ladder, etc. Very simplistic example, but same theory.
Sheesh. If cosmetics are a deal breaker, drape a cheetah print throw rug over the milk crates..
Make sure it's cheetah. Zebra in an emergency.

It depends, less coupling to the floor so it's cleaner, closer to your ears but, less bass reflection from the floor for the room if you are not going through FOH.
Hah. The obvious answer? Create a stand which stores your cabinet in a 'diamond' formation. I.e, angle to angle? Best of both worlds? None of any worlds?
Milk crates and cinder blocks already suggested. Apparently on the local circuit, they're 'unprofessional'.
It may sound crazy, but I'd LOVE to do this for my SVT810 (yes, I DID say 810)- I like the speakers at head level, and would love to have even that cab about another 12 - 16" higher... That's just me...
Another vote for the Auralex Gramma. My 210 sits on it, and the 210 combo on top.

Seriously, you can make a cover out of a black table cloth. It would look more than presentable.
There are stands out there. But my question is why do you need it elevated? Having trouble hearing it? Last night I played a gig in a crowded ballroom with a 210 cab on the floor in an eight piece band and had plenty of stage presence.
You may have an EQ issue, or your band mates might be too loud. Two other ideas to help you hear your bass, keep the cab as close to a wall behind it as you can, leaving a slight gap if rear ported, or in a corner if available. Just those two things can net you an extra couple of dbs.
Psst. Milk crates also double as 'carry cases'
