I use a $10-20 Ikea end table with an aforementioned Gramma pad on top of it; I have a nicer end table I might replace it with but might make it too high for convenience (I put my pedals/pedalboard on top of the amp at the moment)

I've recently been looking for a good solution too.

But guys.. for gigging purposes, it has to be foldable.

EDIT: Auralex Gramma above is nice, but not high enough for all situations.

I suppose this depends on why you're trying to get your rig off the floor. If you're trying to get it close to your ears, then I suppose a milk crate or any of the other things mentioned will work pretty easy. And if they double as something to tote your cables and stuff in so much the better. To get stuff just a *bit* off the stage, I've used the hard case for my Pedal Train Jnr, and that works great. If you just want to decrease mechanical coupling from the stage, you could very cheaply just use a swimming kick board instead of forking out stup.... instead of forking out totally appropriate amounts of money for an auralex. I've seen a studio using stuff like these and they work just fine. More decoupling needed? Add more boards. And they are handy in the car for packing stuff so it doesn't knock about, get damaged, mark the car, crush stuff.

I've been using a Gramma for every gig for over 10 years. I really think its makes a significant difference, especially on wooden stages. I also have one on my subwoofer in my studio and a spare in there for guitar & bass amps.

I use a folding four- wheeled cart, a friend got for me as a gift- it's available in many places- he got it at Costco. It's the best hand truck/ dolly I've ever used. It folds flat, the wheels retract like landing gear! It will hold a lot of weight, although here, it's my Schroeder 15L and Carvin BRX 10.2 Neo..and the Carvin BX 1500, so maybe a little over a hundred pounds on it there.
I put my entire rig on it, and move it to where I will need to stand, and I'm done. No standing waves, rumbling, or problematic coupling. Bandleaders and singers like it, too.
