What's the gig?(Hypothetical)
And you have $1000 or less the buy just one cabinet.
Out of all the cabs out there (new or used) what would be your choice?
Around here you can't give away old cabs, guitar or bass. At least ones that aren't "name brand". If I wasn't picky about brands or matching I could have a wall of cabs for a few hundred $$$because the price of cabs is imo ridiculous, even used.
The best sounding bass cab I've ever owned (for MY taste of course) is a Bergantino 2x12. It's an older discontinued cab. Not neo. It's powerful enough for 90% of my gigs but in a perfect world I would want the exact same cab as 4x12. But then again, I got the 2x12 because I wanted a smaller/lighter cabs for those 90% gigs. The larger venues where I need more power usually provide an SVT rig. Maybe I just want the exact same 2x12 cab... but then again, I can't stand the tone of Ampeg 810s... tough choice, damned laws of physics!!!
