Damn dude....I really hope you get that thing back....and compensation for the head. When you find the fool that did it....we should tar and feather them.....and then hook battery cables up the there nipples, and hook that up to a Voodo Labs power supply, all whole literally wearing the G-String from your Rick.....hopefully its a light guage so it gets up there nice and far......really sorry for your loss dude.

Why would you leave your rick in the truck?? Seriously - keep that thing by your side at all times!

Not your fault it was stolen (that's the thieves' fault) but if you had it out of the truck you'd still have it!

Heck, I wouldn't even leave my ATK in the car!`

I've had a bass stolen out of my house, so it can happen no matter where it is. It usually depends on how well the thief knows you, and where you are vs. the targeted property. When my bass got stolen, I suppose it would have been safer in the front seat of an unlocked car in a mall parking lot than it was at my house that particular night... Just as the OP's Ric wasn't safe in a locked truck, or perhaps even in his own unattended home.

If laws penalized this sort of thing by the sawing off of hands at the forearm, we probably wouldn't be discussing this right now.

i just noticed your a cliff fan , and i remember reading some of your other threads. I realize this is probably your dream bass , seeing as how its in the color he had as well.....damm man thats f'ed up

print off flyers and give them to pawn shops not to hang up but to see if they see the bass come in.

That sucks. I hope you manage to get the bass back.

I do radio broadcast mixes for WAAF in Boston. Years ago, when Creed was a "baby band", they were scheduled to do a show with us. They were on a van tour at the time.
Their whole trailer, gear, instruments, clothes...everything...was stolen the night before in Providence RI. Talk about a bunch of bummed out guys. :(

I think if I saw a picture of the smashed up ampeg head I would actually cry!

I can't see how someone could just smash something up, that annoys me more than the theft, coz with the theft they get the money from selling it on (not defending them here) but the smashing just ruins it for everyone!

Post a wanted add on your local craigs in washington.

Say wanted rickenbacker bass or copy. and just describe that you really want one bad in any shape.

Dont go into details about yours act like you never owned a rick.

The thief may see this add and respond, ask for him to send pics if its your show up with the police.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Ya tomorrow I'm goign to all teh pawn shops in the area with a flyer of the description, and pictures of it. Hopefully these idiots will try and Pawn it and get caught. I can see them doing 3 things. 1. Go and Pawn It 2. Smash it just like the Ampeg or 3. Play it themselves. Ill try all these ideas and get the bass back if I can. Ill update you all. Thanks for everything and the support guys. Really appreciate it!

Wow good luck. With the black badass and the knob with the tip missing it looks pretty unique even for a Ric. The thief probably does not realise how unique this thing is. I hope he doesn't realise this and dump it in the back woods or in his attic or something.

If it was stolen out a vehicle, was it on display? How would a guy on the street know there was a Ric in your vehicle?

Oh And if you do find who did it I suggest you tie them to a chair right next to your biggest amp turn it up to max and play random notes on the Riki they stole until they beg for mercy. (I know I know two wrongs don't make a right but they certainly make you feel better and its probably illegal!)
