SOMEONE STOLE MY RICKENBACKER

Jake!!!! Dude! I hope everything goes down in your favor on getting your Ric back! I remember when it happened and I've rarely felt such empathy for another dude, but how cool is this?!?!!! :hyper: :hyper:

When you get it back, we can finish our conversation about putting that custom pickguard around the bridge chasm!

Hey guys I've notified the police who are taking their SWEET A** TIME at doing this and maybe get to it today but I ll just have to wait and see what happens. I've been callin them all morning and they wont respond but I hope they get this guy soon. Thanks PaulNYC & Stacatto for the email letting me know!

you've notified ??? bro I would go there in person and sit with a detective and KNOW that they were going asap to nab a person who "received stolen goods" ! Didn't you call the police after the smash and grab and have an incident report written ?
Show them that it's really important to you that you get your instrument back.
Now if you also have comprehensive insurance coverage on your truck you may be able to get that ampeg repaired too.

"Notfied" i guess is pretty general. Once I found out that it was on ebay I went straight to the Police Station. Talked to the Sargent and gave him all the info he needed. Gave him a copy of the police report I had, a bill of sale, the beginning post of this thread and the thread on the rickenbacker forum showing the time/date (the day after It was stolen), The serial number, pictures of the bass, pictures of me with the bass and valuidating I had the bass before it was listed stolen. Copy of the archived report on The Rickenbacker Register page showing it was stolen, tons of evidence that it was mine and I owned it. Hope that clears it up! haha

Did you notify ebay??? You need to do that too. They'll have to fork over all the seller information.

I think they said it was at a pawn shop or somethen but talk about your heart dropping to your stomach. How the heck did he get tipped off!!!!!!! LASJFILJDKL!!!!!!!!

This is why we shouldn't do the following:

Damn, I hope this works out. The auction is still up and running. I would contact the seller and give them the 411.

UPDATE!

They found the Ricky at a Pawn shop in Buckley. The Idiot pawned it for $160.... C'mon now he could've done a little bit of research and made a grand more, what a Idiot..

Anyways The Pawn Shop wont let it go unless 1. The police get a search warrant or 2. I go pay the $160.

The police told me that they can get a search warrent tommorow (which is their friday) or if not then by monday and said the pawn shop should just bite the 160 so Ill hopefully I can post a picture of me reunited with my ric tomorrow afternoon (Or Friday!). Also I asked if they can try to sell the it and they said no which is reasurring.

$160... What a D-Bag

The quest is almost over!

Great news man!

160$!? i knew pawn shops were a rip off thats so little for such a sweet bass.

Glad you'll have it back , it took some work but it really payed off. i think the statistics are like only 10% of stolen instruments are recovered, very lucky i think TB helps alot in these quests.

Looking forward to pics.
