Sometimes I Just Need a Break from TB

I didn't read through everything because I'm lazy, but I'll +1 anyone who said that TalkBass induced GAS gives me heartburn. So much drool-worthy gear that I never knew about or knew I wanted.

If I spent more time doing that whole "PlayBass" thing instead of goofing around on TalkBass, I'd be a better bassist who's *gasp* happy and satisfied with his gear and doesn't need or want for anything else!

But TalkBass is just way too much fun.

I took a break from KFC. Got the idea from McDonald's.

So many people with bigger budgets than me! This isn't fair! I demand to be given a good enough income to buy all the expensive things without having to work harder for them! The fact that many of you are ....uhh.... "significantly further along in life" than me and have been able to make/save money for considerably longer than me is completely irrelevant!

I'm trying to emulate a stereotypical millennial. Is it working? ;)

15 pages in and no mention of my favorite topic to get bent out of shape over for no reason - flippers.

While I get that you can sell what you own for whatever you want and if I don't like it, I don't have to pay your price and I should just mind my own business...the whole thing feels slimy to me. That "Hey, here's something where demand exceeds supply and I bet people will pay a premium, that's money on the table that could be in my pocket" mentality just irks me in general, particularly when it is used to exploit fandom in your own hobby - like scalping tickets to your favorite band instead of hooking up a fan and breaking even. Then again, I could never survive in a sales or stock market job.

It bothers me that I find it slimy and most people don't...to me it is a representation of society and I like to believe that not everyone is out for just themselves. The biggest irony I find with the whole thing is that when you "do the right thing" the universe tends to pay you back in spades so even the opportunists would make out better. I know I'm in the minority, but I think someone doesn't have to lose for someone else to win. win-win should always be what we strive for, but we seem to always aim for win-lose.

- You don't need a Sadowsky, my Squire sounds just as good if not better.
- That's a beautiful Fodera but did you consider a Sire? Substitute Fodera with any brand.
- Cheapest, smallest, lightest and loudest 4x10 cab to use with my 1x12 cab...
