Songs That Make You Cringe

can't say how much i agree with so many of you. my list could go on and on for hours..

-creep by radiohead
-outside by staind
-everlong-foo fighters
-anything by nickleback/hinder/theory of a deadman/buck cherry,etc..
-any southern rock, especially skynyrd, especially freebird and sweet home alabama. yeah, after hearing it like everywhere, always, it isn't so sweet..
-new alice in chains and metallica, sorry, just couldn't get into either of them but all of my friends and my brother loved both of their most recent albums.
-hardcore, or anything screamo (ex. the devil wears prada)
-lots of different 80's music
-funk gets rather old to me after a while plus, i can't stand the funk bassist mentality that some tend to have (if you can't slap, you "suck at bass"..:rollno:)

Anything that can be described as "Texas Country".

It seems that in this "genre", as long as your subject matter is familiar bars, landmarks and scenery, it doesn't matter if you can't sing, write, or play more than 3 chords. In fact, I'm starting to believe that being devoid of any talent whatsoever is essential in pulling this stuff off. :smug:

Ughhh I'm with ya on that one.

Me And Bobby McGee

Ding-ding-ding....a winner in my book, too. I use it to my advantage when gigging: I'll sometimes be approached by a chick wanting to sit in and sing a tune. My response is always "okay, as long as its not Bobby McGee or anything by Patsy Cline". They usually look at me with a weird slack-jawed expression, turn, and walk away. Am I flippin' psychic or what?!?

FTR, I miss Karen Carpenter...she could actually sing and was a class act to the end.

Most people look at me like I am crazy, but I despise the Eagles. I don't get why people like them, the music bores me or annoys me. So whenever I have to play an Eagles tune I just want to bludgeon myself with a P-bass neck. I will say if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to pick one Eagles tune I had to play, I would probably pick "Life in the Fastlane", that tune I can semi tolerate. "Hotel California" and "Desperado" make me want to shove bottle rockets under my toe nails and gargle Napalm.
