Songs That Make You Cringe

Preach it, brother! Those two "songs" literally make me cringe.

GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Now, there are songs I dont like but can still listen to. A lot of the songs in this thread wouldnt not make me cringe in the slightest. I might say 'oh, this song again' but for the most part theyre all bearable. This Ke$sha chick, SHE makes me cringe, the sound of her voice is SO grating.

Most people look at me like I am crazy, but I despise the Eagles. I don't get why people like them, the music bores me or annoys me. So whenever I have to play an Eagles tune I just want to bludgeon myself with a P-bass neck. I will say if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to pick one Eagles tune I had to play, I would probably pick "Life in the Fastlane", that tune I can semi tolerate. "Hotel California" and "Desperado" make me want to shove bottle rockets under my toe nails and gargle Napalm.

Ken

I want to give you my drummer's email.

"Angie" by the Stones.

The Stones have ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS trying to do slow ballads, IMO.

"As Tears Go By" also makes me cringe, but slightly less.

Disagree there a bit. As Tears Go By was written and performed by Marianne Faithful. She was pretty hot back then. I think she was jacking the whole band though. Not the Stones best effort by any means, that's for sure.

Two newer ones that make me cringe and I can't figure who told these guys that have any talent. Neither one can sing or rap on key let alone do anything of musical value.

Jay-Z - Empire State of Mind
Kid Rock - All Summer Long

Some of these are great songs that have been massively overplayed, IMHO. They should be distinguished from awful songs that have been massively overplayed. Although you can still cringe from the former, it is a little unfair to cringe solely because they have been overplayed.

For example, only a few Joe Walsh songs get played today--How many times do we have to hear "Rocky Mountain Way"? I mean really. How about something from the "James Gang Live in Concert (at Carnegie Hall)" album instead, like "Take a Look Around"?

But then we have songs like "(Bang Bang) I am the Warrior" by Scandal that induced hemmorhoids (and of course cringing) the first time is was played.

Carry on....

Pretty much anything by Lady Gaga or any number of hip-hop artists make me cringe!:spit:

Lol, I knew both those statement would be in the first ten posts, knocked it out all in one, so closed minded.

I wont say anything about a song I dont play cuz the op seems to be asking about cringeworthy songs that you play. My band covers one song that I just particularly hate and flat out dont agree with, I hate my life by Theory of a deadman. #1 its just boring to play #2 I just really disagree with the lyrics, I mean any song that starts out with "Im so sick of the hobos allways beggin for change" cant really go uphill from there.

Horse With No Name
Seasons in the Sun

Most stuff done since the '80s, not kidding, but with particular emphasis on all rap, all dance music (especially that soulless robotic techno and Euro-crap with all the made-up sub-genres that sound the same) and all electronica, urban R&B Autotune bubblegum - god, what CRAP!!!

And all that emo sensitive-white-boy power pop too. Makes me puke, not just cringe.

P.S. hating Lady GAGa (which I do) doesn't make anyone "closed minded". That is an empirical fact, and I will bet anyone here that thinks otherwise that I listen to far more different styles of music than they do.
