Every time I hear this I think i know how a junkie must feel when they first realize they are strung out. They hate themselves for what they are doing, but can't wait to get right. It's like passing a bad car wreck, you really want to look away, but you just can't.

How about...dare I say..."Muskrat Love" - Captain & Tennille?:
Nothing to be embarrassed about with Muskrat Love. Maybe the original version called "Muskrat Candlelight" by Willis Alan Ramsey or the first cover changed to "Muskrat Love" by America will make up for the Captain & Tennille version. The America rendition has some cool bass work by David Dickey.
That's because they are excellent songs, with fantastic musicians, top tier singing and world class production. Nothing guilty about any of those pleasures
My favorite, guilty pleasure, 'you listen to WHAT?':
ABBA. All of it, any of it, I'm in. Pseudo-classical influences, all the hooks, the vocals, I'm just a sucker for this stuff.

At least I can cite the late Rutger Gunnarsson, the brilliant bassist (and arranger and producer) who played under most of their hits:

I didn't know much about bass at the time, but later read that both Marcus Miller and Will Lee worked on some of their stuff and they thought it was cool.

Artist: Bullet For My Valentine. They are solid musicians, but I find them to be a total cookie-cutter band. Plus, I didn't like it when Matt Tuck (singer/guitarist) said in an interview something to the effect that he writes and records all the basslines and that the bass player in the band has no creative input. Song: Tears Don't Fall. Somehow, that song has been stuck in my head since 2005 and I've been listening to it a LOT lately. It's a total guilty pleasure song. There are/were so many bands doing this style of music far better, yet somehow, this song embedded itself into my brain. And, I'll admit, part of my guilty pleasure is that I found the young lady in the music video attractive. (Her name is Taylor Cole. You're welcome.)

What I remember most about that video was how cool I thought Phil Chen looked with that big old Fender bass on him!
I knew I'd never look that cool, because at 14, I was already way taller ( and fatter.... ) than Phil.
