Almost anything from the 80s, chorus was rather overused back then.

Geddy Lee used it quite a bit on the Farewell To Kings/Hemispheres/Permanent Waves recordings. Cygnus X-1 is a notable example.
It is not an unusual effect on Prog-rock recordings.
Many fretless players use a bit chorus.

I just bought my first pedal (besides my VT Bass) for my progressive trio and it is an MXR Chorus (with a flanger). It was just a guess so I am delighted to see that you suggested this is a common effect for Prog-rock! Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut!

A little left of topic but, chorus was my first and by far favorite effect I had when i first started playing. I always played in trios and had to fill up alot of space in the mix and thought chorus did the trick. I play in cover bands and only use it sparingly these days (like someone else said, sweet child o mine for example)

Alice in chains "Rooster" used chorus for the clean verses/intro. I think "You could be mine" by GNR also used chorus but it could be flanger(?)...

I always thought "Stranglehold" was heavy chorus or flange when I was younger, turns out it was an MXR Phaser IIRC. My point, all three *can* be very similar effects.

Either way, I love the sound of a thick chorus on bass.

Oh yeah, Ratt's bassist used chorus on "You're in trouble" and Rudy on Quiet Riots on "bang your head"....very, very popular in the 80's!! LOL

Never been a fan of chorusy bass, nor have I been a fan of goth rock, but Steve Severin is kind of a badass. Their drummer, Budgie, is no slouch either.

I was going to say "Don't Stop Believin". Beat me to it. I was in a band that covered that song, and at the time, I had a Peavey Mark VI head with that on-board chorus feature. That song was the only time I ever used it.

He uses a Boss Bass Chorus and Ensemble pedal also I'm pretty sure that's the effect on 46&2 though he may be using flanger also

Tech trick: you can turn your Boss BF-2 or BF-3 flanger into a decent chorus by setting Man and Res to 0 and adjusting Depth and Rate to taste.

It was literally the first thing I thought of. Alternately, chorus was big on bass with a lot of fusion players in the 70's. I'm not a fan necessarily, but I'm sure there are some that are. These spring to mind:
