As an avid wireless user (bought many and sold many) I have to give Sony a 2 thumbs up on their new DWZ digital instrument wireless system.

Its a nice compact system that in typical digital format (no companding) no signal squash
Freq response 10- 22khz
Nice metal construction on transmitter /composite on rcvr
AA battery with 10 hour use on akaline You can also use rechargable with no issues according to manual
Rcvr will power off 9volt battery/ 9 volt dc supply or 12 volt dc supply (included with system). (I have used 9 volt battery just to see time length of use and I got 3.5 hrs out of rcvr battery)
This sytem also has a balanced XLR out to go straight to the PA if needed a nice feature what I was needing for my other acoustic needs.
I would honestly put this right there on par with the G50 system in range (which I have owned and also highly recommend);)
Line 6 is made in China,Sony in Korea
The supplied cable is better in build then Line 6 G50/55/90 but Im building my own upgraded cable anyway for it
which Im sure Sony will probably offer their own upgrade in the near future
I think SONY did their homework on this system from a build/price/quality and sound standpoint

My wireless history includes the following
Sennheiser
Beyerdynamic
Samason
X2 (twice)
Line 6 (Twice)

I will absolutely put this as simple as possible

The Sony system absolutely smokes all the others with the G50/or 90 comes in second

The Specs on both ends of freq spectrum 10hz to 22khz much better than any other

System is built construction wise better

Output is unity, with my Line 6 system I had to increase gain slightly

Sony has built in Balanced DI on the
RCVR ( which I have used straight to the board, Eng loved signal)

The transmitter will take rechargeable batteries and battery meter will self calibrate for Lith Ion batteries
w 10+ hrs on battery The RCVR will power off 3 ways
Power supply it comes with, 9 volt pedal supply or a 9 v battery

The only thing I did was I made my own custom cable (the supplied cable is good but I have always made my own whatever syst I owned)

I work on aviation electronics as my day job and can say you will be pleased with the SONY system!

I use Canare GS cable and Neutrik or amphenol ends.
I can make it to your specified length w straight or 90 deg end.

I just bought one brand new from guitar center for 149.99. Last one they had in stock. I have always wanted to go wireless but refused to spend a ton and didn't want uhf or vhf. I'm really hoping this is as nice as all the reviews I'm reading. Can't wait to get off work and go try it out.

Ok now I've put it through its tests. Worth the 400. Best deal ever. Now I need to go buy rechargeable batteries. I feel like Peter pan. "I have no strings to hold me down. ....." here's a picture of the set up. I want to get a nice pedal case now.

Broadstbully22, thank you for posting about this great bargain. I took your advise and called GC and spoke to a manager, he quoted the $399.99 price and I mentioned what you paid. He said he would check and get back to me. He did not call so I called him. He stated that he had ordered one from another store at the $149.99 price for me and he would call when it came in. These were on close out but you can buy there 2 year warranty.

Awesome. Yeah. You can see on the receipt I got the two year. Pretty great deal. I'm glad you're getting it to. I've been messing with it all day. It sounds perfect and the range is pretty far but I did notice that if I put the receiver by my wireless router the tone got wierd, but I had to put it pretty close. Besides that it's taken everything I can think of.

Wow 1st I thought "I didn't know that they had wireless wood working routers." Then I got back into my computer mindset and thought that would not be a logical place to put the wireless guitar/bass receiver. Does it have this problem if it is placed on top of the amp? Where in this great big world are you?

On the amp was fine. It even worked good on top of the microwave. Lol. I live in Ohio. Something about the wireless router but it didn't do it until it was about a foot away. Must be something they both work on. But you have to put it really close. Neon lights didn't bother it either. What I also really like is the metal clip that comes on the transmitter. Holds really strong in my strap, to the point it's hard to get off. Which is great in my opinion.

You will not be disappointed. It's worth retail, I'm very pleased. I can't wait till next Saturday to take it to a gig and check the house sound from the crowd. Plus walking out is one of the easiest go to moves to get a crowd into a song. I might grab a beer, take a piss while I'm at it. Lol.

The wireless router and the Sony wireless both use 2.4 GHz. I think I read in some older posts that someone else had the same problem with G50.
I may check out one of these Sony systems, especially if GC still has it at $150!
