source audio c4

Both..When it's on or bypassed..
Under the global “Options” menu, can you make sure that your default input routing is set for either Default or Both Inputs? Also, if set on default make sure you have a plug connected to the Input 2 when the pedal is powered on (if you want to use the app to control the pedal and have audio input at the same time, you can get a TRS insert cable and send the audio on the tip insert and neuro app/phone input on the ring insert)

I’ve sort of worked round this for my use of expression on C4, admittedly with my MC6 MIDI controller. I have expression on eg the filter frequency. When I move the expression it’s sweeping the frequency between the min and max values configured in the MC6. Then on release (ie no expression movement for x milliseconds) the MC6 sends a CC to reset the filter frequency to my normal setting
That’s one of many pluses of the Morningstar units! The DMC units don’t have that kind of functionality available unfortunately (it would require sending an extra footswitch message to reset the value).

I think it's set to default.. Actually the neuro app does not work on my phone since I got the pedal..I use the the desktop editor..The input 2 is going into my amps effects loop send...

What does the Modulate button do in the voice channel underneath the detune knob?

Detune Knob and Modulate Button: Use the Detune knob to adjust the Voice’s pitch either
up or down. Select the Modulate button below the Detune knob and assign the effect to the
LFO 1. The LFO (selectable in the LFO 1 & 2 block) continuously bends the pitch back and
forth between the original and detuned points. Use the subsequent pitch modulation to
create either subtle movement or a more intense vibrato effect. Mix one Detuned voice with
another Un-Detuned Voice and create a chorus or doubling effect.

Yea I read that in the manual but don't really understand the connection of the modulation to the LFO.. anyways il mess around with it... Check out my recent patch Evil Techno...haven't really a clue what I'm doing but I stumbled on this cool sound/effects lol...

It’s pretty straightforward. The detune knob does exactly that (detunes the pitch of that voice), right of noon to sharpen, left of noon to flatten. When “modulate” is switched on, the LFO effectively cyclically moves the detune knob between noon and its current position, hence can be used for vibrato effects.

There you go, you're off and running. Strongly recommend putting time aside to watch which is an excellent deep dive into the C4 editor.

I’m curious - how are you doing that exactly?

It's manual / clunky / not perfect but FWIW:

I've mapped the things I want to control with CC in the Neuro editor.

Using example of Filter1 Freq (CC 2 for me) I noted the displayed value in Neuro editor for my "CW Basic Filter" patch, and sent CC values until I found the CC value that produced the displayed value.

Then the preset in MS editor looks like:

So, manual, a little laborious and of course you HAVE to keep your foot moving :) but I'm not a big expression user so it works for me!

Ah, I hadn’t noticed that newer “send CC on disengage command”; cool.

Me either- gotta love those Morningstar crew, thinking of everything!

Thanks- this is rad, and something I thought I’d have to sorta cobble together with my synth pedals

Well i just went through a phase where i convinced myself to go back to a more simpler board with dedicated effects. it has been great but I was missing two things... a filter and trem. So i have looked everywhere for filters and I know SA have killed it in the filter world for ages and was going to go with the spectrum...but that $50...dang....So now i have the c4 coming and know I have stepped into SA's most complex pedal but at least i am super familar with their layouts and systems as this is my 5th now with the EQ2 and nemesis still very much locked into my board. I have had some fun with DAW synths like Serum in the past but I know this one will hurt my brain in a good way lol.

Is their anyway to get ethereal sounds out of the C4?like choir voices, violin/orchestra sounds, long pad like synth sounds?..If not, anyone know of a pedal that can? in part or full?
You should use the search function in the Neuro present library. There are like 2,500 presets!!
