source audio c4

Is their anyway to get ethereal sounds out of the C4?like choir voices, violin/orchestra sounds, long pad like synth sounds?..If not, anyone know of a pedal that can? in part or full?
I use the EHX Synth9 and Mel9 for those type sounds. The C4 can do pads by using the harmonizer and then adding appropriate delays and reverbs for ambience.

Does the Calibration feature on the pedal only work once as in when you do it the first time the pedal is set?Can I do it again etc?..When I turn on the pedal I never touch the pedal,I do everything from the Editor..
Do you mean the input gain calibration or the expression pedal calibration?

Quick question about Output Balance - Not sure why but for some of my patches, when I set the balance all the way to the left, it sounds better than having it at 12 o'clock, and the sound will cut out completely if I set it all the way to the right. I presume this is because I am only running the bass through input 1, and out of output 1.

But the strange thing is, for some patches, it sounds better when its set more to the right. And it doesn't cut out the sound when it is fully to the right. Doesn't that mean it should just be coming from Output 2?

There are a lot of controls that effect the gain-staging and panning. Check the destinations of the processors in the Output Mixer section, the Processor Pans of each voice, etc. It can be pretty confusing honestly to have so many controls effecting similar functions, particularly when you didn’t build the patch yourself from scratch

Thanks for the reply, but i am talking withou hub, expression pedal direct to pedal, with an adaptor of course, i think i’ve read on the manual that it is possible, does anyone actualy did it?
I tried directly to C4 pedal with a melo audio pedal and appropriate adapters. It didn’t work.
The same pedal kind of works through the DMC micro, but sweeps through a large portion of the range over a very narrow physical sweep of the pedal, so I gave up. It would be great if a small pedal worked.

does the EHX synth9 track down to the low E well? TIA

per the thread: i've followed this thread since the beginning but remain ambivalent about the C4 --- thinking it might do "too much" for my meager needs. but getting a good string sound (a la synth9) is a plus.

There are a few pad sounds that are similar texture to 'strings' even some 'brass' but would not fool an educated ear. The C4 does track well down to lo E with the right touch, if you are getting success with the EHX then the C4 will have no problem as the tracking is better.

i think i was unclear:
- does the EHX track low E?

anyway: thanks for the tip! sounds like the C4 is the better bet re: tracking.

The tracking on the EHX Mel9 and Synth9 is different from the C4 in many ways. Reliable tracking on the EHX pedals below A is not a thing.

The Mel9 is quite temper:mad:mental much like the original beast prone to glitches and quirks that can be frustrating or amusing. tracking below A is not good but if you are precise and it will trigger but not always as expected, keeping in mind the limitations of the sample selection. The selection of sounds that can be layered on your bass sound that range from sublime to outrageous

The Synth9 is actually a bit better as there is a compressor on the input stage but there can still be glitches. But there is only one string sound and the other synth sounds are pretty esoteric at best not really something most bass players would find useful.
