For example keyboard players are still exploring 50+ year old synthesizers that are seriously limited in capabilities in comparison and finding new sounds and possibilities and spending huge amounts of $ to buy or lease vintage machines or pale reproductions.

Luckily I have had time to explore the possibilities of the C4 and have a little bit of experience in Electronic Music and am working on recordings I hope to soon share using the C4 as the prime sound source. I hope others are doing the same.

So, I've got a C4 arriving today. I've joined a 2nd band that does a lot of tunes that this pedal will greatly benefit. I will probably end up going for some form of bare bones midi device so I can access all 128 presets. I've spent the last couple days reading/skimming this thread to almost page 70. What a helpful community. I'm seeking a temporary solution to access the full 128 patches.

Is there an Android based solution to access/toggle midi presets on the C4? I always have tablets (yes, plural) with me at gigs for running sound, lights, set lists, charts, notes, cameras, etc.

TouchOSC or MIDIPad apps will work.

Whew! C4 kinda kicking my butt lately w the learning curve. I might be tripping over low sense/hi sense, but Im not getting much out of the filters, they all sorta sound the same? Also getting a weird warbling out of the poly pitch source. Not a “cant find the pitch” warbling, but a sequencing rhythmic oscillation. Sequencer is of course off. Im starting from scratch, maybe i should try some presets again.

The Neuro desktop app seems to keep locking up or crashing for me on Windows 10. When switching back and forth between presets already stored on the pedal, everything is fine. However whenever I'm doing anything related to presets from the cloud, I very often get no sound with all knobs and controls set to zero, or the app locks up and I have to either restart the app, toggle the pedal on or off, or both. Fresh install (twice) of the Neuro app and the pedal firmware reads as up-to-date. New pedal, no previous owner. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips? When things are working, everything is phenomenal. But the learning process is being slowed by technical difficulties.

If you rush through the presets sometimes they get a bit glitchy. It's like parts of the previous patch are still applied. Reboot the device and the Neuro App and it reboots fine. You might want to check your USB ports / cable too. The devices don't like a lot of other devices on the same port / hub. I've had a few cases of where the Neuro app doesn't fully shut down and I have to force it by closing it in the Windows Task Manager (or rebooting).

I noticed some of this as well. I've duplicated this across different USB cables. The only USB devices I'm running are my audio interface and the C4. I usually practice via headphones using Reaper. I'm not using any kind of hub either. And as you mentioned, after closing the app and attempting to restart it, it was still "running" in the background. I appreciate the tips.

I haven't had any issues running Neuro & WinX on any of my computers, unless trying to use Bluetooth, even the terribly old Gateway net book stretched to the breaking point supporting 3 SA devices and a Zoom. MIDI USB even using a hub was not an issue. Adding the Bass Ultrawave was the final straw for that one though, replaced by a sleek little ASUS gamer sports car in comparison.

Okay, editor seems pretty stable now. Occasional hang-up, but I will chalk this up to my stupidity. I had left the phone cable connected to input 2 despite not having a phone connected and not using it. Not sure if this was the culprit. But the improved stability afterwards leads me to believe it likely was. I'm continuing to love the pedal.

I've got a couple gigs next weekend with a modern pop cover band that will see multiple patches used. I ordered a DMC Micro Pro which should arrive Monday. I can already tell that 6 presets isn't going to cut it. Being able to program the Micro Pro with corresponding patch names will be immensely helpful.

Best to disconnect the cable when not using it. Yes, it will mess with the desktop editor if left connected like that.

In the same boat here. I read a few books on subtractive synthesis last week while on vacation (including testing my learnings with an iPad synth) so I have a better idea what all the stuff does, but it doesn't translate 1:1. Examples:
* I learned about HP, LP, and bandpass filters. This thing has 28 different filters, none of which is simple low pass filter. Still trying to find the right combination to get a good generic bass synth sound
* I learned about ADSR envelopes. This has a bunch of different envelopes but not full control over all 4 settings. So far Snappy has been working pretty well for me with some adjustments
* It seems like the monophonic sources is the closest to a sine wave. So far though, I'm working with a few saw and square wave inputs to build my standard synth sounds
* Suprisingly, adding a mild distortion with one of the low pass filters smooths out the sound more than without the distortion.

Question for the group, are there any resources that provide more details on the different distortions, filters and envelopes available on the C4?

The [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] has some nice graphs of the frequency response of the various filters. I found it to be very helpful. (The filters on the Spectrum and the C4 are the same.)

If you're looking for a simple low-pass filter, try the 6-pole, 4-pole, or 2-pole low-pass filters. The number of poles is proportional to the sharpness of the cutoff. 6 poles cuts off at 36dB per octave, 4 poles at 24, and 2 poles at 12.

For those using and of the DMC web editor tool for naming the midi presets, I'm seeking clarification. On the DMC Micro Pro itself, would the 1st preset read as 00 in the Disaster midi editor, but it's actually the 1st preset, meaning 001 according to the Neuro desktop app? So if I'm manually typing in names to the DMC Micro Pro, the number value would be one number lower than the Neuro app preset name/number?

Basically 1st batch, green light, switch to left would be 001 in Neuro, but 00 on the DMC. Do I have this correct?
