Are there CC#/Value commands for MIDI Controllers to change Presets on the C4?

For example, have Preset 3 toggled on the unit but use a MIDI Controller to change the Preset to 2 (via CC# command)

It seems like the manual only provides commands to engage/bypass the unit and/or change Tap Tempo or Expression.

CC 103 and 104 to change preset (bypassed or engaged).

Or you can assign any CC to any function via the device>MIDI map menu in the desktop editor.

CC 103 and 104 to change preset (bypassed or engaged).

Would the Value be the Preset#?
I tried this with the Value being the preset number with both a Midi Baby 3 and a Neural Quad Cortex and it didn’t work.
However if I try CC105 Value 1 or 102/1 the engage/bypass pedal works

Disregard...Im an idiot. I was not taking '0' in to consideration as being the first preset.

Yep, been there, done that, got that Tee shirt bud! I have a little note pad next to my board with Midi notes for all my pedals. Because I can guarantee than in a weeks time I will have forgotten this and make the same error again. Multiply that by 12 midi pedals and each one has a specific hurdle…a note pad is essential!
I use a SA Neuro Hub for 5 SA devices and that passes Midi CC and PC to the C4. Some SA pedals can receive PC and CC natively, others can only receive CC and others need a hub for either.

Quick question to any who have also used a 3Leaf Doom (either version)-- Can the C4 cop the low gain, synthy vibe voice from the Doom pedal? The only thing I could find was this post from a while back: source audio c4
I've not tried with the C4, I don't have a Doom pedal available to be to try...they are pretty rare here in the UK. I think the Ultrawave would be more likely to get a similar sound.

Interesting. That was only me musing about perceived similarities between the Foldover sounds (back the on the big box Ultrawave Bass Distortion) and the Doom, but I'm tempted to try this out sometime with the C4, though I'm not too optimistic. Out of some weird desire to scale down my board, I sold my Doom a couple years ago, but I remember it being rather special - especially those low gain muted sounds you could get out of it.

I’d really appreciate your insight if you do try this out.

In fairness, it is confusing at times. Our editor starts at 1 and not zero.

I did love your GIF, however! :)

I think I did and it doesn't really check out. While the Doom and Foldover distortion are kind of similar sounding in the higher register (with the weird upper octave ringmoddy and octafuzzy kind of thing), the Foldover still has way too much gain on the lowest distortion setting. Great, now I want a Doom again.

You can dial in the mix and gain settings, but you can’t split the 2 distortion blocks into different distortion modules. I’m pretty sure you would get a lot more Doom mileage out of an Ultrawave. The C4’s dirt modules are fairly generic and intended to distort oscillator / synthesis. You can use them in isolation, but that’s not their intended use and they are quite basic compared to SA’s distortion specific pedals.

Exactly. I feel that the engines included in the C4 are not flexible enough for this…but hey, it's really not a distortion pedal (while being an awesome synth, filter, tremolo, phaser, octaver etc.). So no complaints here at all.

Too lazy to Google right now, can someone remind me if either the C4 or Ultrawave do bit crushing?

I'm not sure if anyone has made a pure Bit Crusher patch for the C4, they are usually combined with other sounds. However, yes there's a distortion type called Sample Reducer. If you create a patch with Voice 1 set to Distortion + Filter, set the filters to off, assign Control 1 to Distortion Drive and Control 2 to Distortion Mix, you pretty much have what you are looking for. This should work for both the C4 and Spectrum devices.
The Ultrawave doesn't have this particular Distortion type, so I don't think it's something that can be done with a UW.
The Nemesis also has this option (called Sample Rate Reduction) that can be assigned to the Intensity knob for each patch / model.

There's a few Ultrawave Patches called You're D, that are created by guys who have emulated a specific setting on their 3 Leaf pedal. I used this patch as a basis for my own version (GMC You're D, by Gazzajagman) blending a heavy fuzz on Ch2 (balance mapped to the Expression pedal) and a typical You're D sound on Ch1. It sounds close to the various youtube vids about, well using my rig, bass and ears it does. I couldn't say it if completely nails it though as I don't have access to the 3 Leaf Audio pedal. It certainly gets in the ball park.

Then again, nobody on YT has used the Doom the way that I like it most, i.e. at pretty much zero gain. It really is unique in that "range".

I have both (OG Doom). I haven't done much editing -- I mostly use other users presets and tweak them a bit to my playing style and basses, but I am more than willing to try and do some side by side comparisons for you. I don't normally use the Doom the way you're asking about. The settings on the pedal were how it was the last time I used it before I pulled it off my board. I like the balls out synth gooey-ness I get out of it at high gain, but I guess that's why we have knobs.
