Hey everyone!
I thought I saw someone addressing this issue in this discussion, but now I cannot find it.

I just received my Disaster Area midi, which means I am now transitioning from having just 6 presets available in the C4, to have as many available presets as I want (at least until 128). I am wondering if you guys organize your presets in a certain order. For example, do you have all your octaves together, and then your filters, then your pads, etc etc, so you can find the effect spontaneously; or do you organize your presets according to the gig, or rehearsal, in which you already know what are you going to play and which effect you will use, thus you organize them in the corresponding order? Or alternatively, you don't think about it, you create your patches and just add them as you go.

I organize mine according to set list, which band I'm playing with, etc. I don't have enough need for all 128 patches, so I will actually program some duplicates, so that when certain songs require quick switching, they're only 1 or two clicks away. Sometimes they're programmed to be bypassed, or engaged. I use the DMC Micro Pro, and I've taken advantage of naming them accordingly. I also tend to make notes on my setlists as to which song requires which patch numbers.

Even with the 128 capability, I still put my favorite 6 at the top so, if I want, I can pull those up with the switches rather than using the neuro desktop/app. Other than that, the order is pretty random.

I do keep a list on my phone with the number of preset and what type of effect it is.

Is there something in the settings that I would need to update for the two way communication to work? I've had the C4 for a few months and have been dabbling with community presets but finally watched the Zachary Rizer vid on the desktop editor and started playing with the mobile app. At this point I still can't see my presets on the app and when I burned a preset into open slot 21 from the app, on the desktop editor it said "user preset 1" or something like that and I did a 'Save As' to give it the name from the community.

C4 needs to be running on newest firmware for 2 way communication over usb on the mobile app.

Thanks - C4 is on version fw 1.21 which I believe is the latest, and the app is v3.2.7 which I think is also up to date. I bought my C4 used without the original cables - all other aspects of the app seem to be working with the cables I am using (1/8 out of iPad headphone to 1/4 input 2 on the C4).

Oh you need to use usb on phone for 2 way communication. The 1/4 to 1/8 cable (Neuro cable) only sends information.

I've tried two different USB-C cables into two different adapters into my Google Pixel 4a, and with my Amazon Fire Tablet 10. No dice on any of them. Newest firmware and newest app versions. Any tips?

I love my Source Audio gear, C4 and Atlas. These aren't complaints and I realize the amount of technology baked into these things isn't easy. Just looking for tips or a resolution.

Try reaching out to the contact email, could be one of the cables/OTG adapters your using just doesn’t work well with either the pedal or your phone/tablet. I’m not sure what to suggest, but someone else at the SA HQ might have experience with your devices and has a solution.

You folks rock with the speedy replies. The C4 works fine on both my Windows computers in any connection OTHER than type C port. Single cable, USB type A to type A cable to adapter (have successfully tested 4 adapters this way) made sure all 3 USB type A to USB-C cables work for data by confirming data transfer of small file from phone to PC. Also tested all my USB ports on my computers successfully. The only common denominator that fails everytime (on PC too) is USB-C port on computer out to adapter, to C4 (and Atlas). That same cable adapter combination I just listed also fails on Android phone and tablet. I just grabbed a different Android tablet that has a micro USB to type A, into adapter and that also didn't work.

Summary. 4 different adapters work when plugged into PC on USB type A. Failed when into anything with type C. PC, tablet, and phone. Micro USB from my other tablet to adapter to C4 also failed. I'll contact support. I appreciate you guys.

If you are logged into your account, then yes. That is the key thing.

You are not supposed to use a 'charger cable' when connecting the C4 via the mini USB port - a) how do you identify a 'charger cable' (as opposed to I guess a 'data cable') and b) what happens if you do?

Nothing will happen, because a charger cable can't transfer data. It wont harm it though.

Can I please get some feedback on if people are actually using the Neuro App - iOS or Android - to edit/burn presets to the C4, versus using the desktop version? Are you able to see the presets currently on your C4 in the App, build presets or edit ones from the community and burn them to your pedal, etc.? Thanks.

Unless you are connecting to the pedal via USB communication with the app is only one-way, so the app won’t be able to read anything off of the pedal. Everything else you asked, yes!
The newest firmware does allow you to connect to a phone via USB to get two-way communication (just no two-way communication through the 1/4” input)

Are you using a “proper” USB cable as opposed to a charger cable?
