Thanks for your input. I’ve been messing around with the pedal for a few days now with the advice and I still cannot get anything to make noise. It’s almost like no matter where I set the pedal, it’s still not enough to trigger the envelope.

I’m using a EBMM stingray special and practically every single patch sounds the same……

Pedal is latest software as checked by SA website. Thank you

Gone through the manual, done all the settings, sweeps etc as advised and I’m still getting nothing usable. It’s all just noise so the pedal is going back. Really disappointed as everything I’ve heard about it sounds amazing but I cannot get it work and there are no ‘80’s’ style sounds in the hub, again disappointing as forums say there are hundreds of patches. I’ve got none.

How are you powering the pedal? It needs at least 150mA if I recall correctly. Any less than that and it’ll likely cause data corruption.

Reinstall the current firmware. That is necessary if the pedal has suffered data corruption as it flushes out any corrupt data.

Connect to the desktop app, then click on the cog icon in the pedal window (I think). I haven’t had to do this on Neuro 3 yet.

If you’re on the older version of the desktop, there’s an icon that looks like a downwards arrow next to the cog and and wrench icons.

I’m pretty sure you’ve either unfortunately got a defective one or aren’t following the steps correctly. I’d suggest emailing source audio support as if it’s a matter of reinstalling firmware and factory resetting, they can talk you through the steps. If it’s defective, they can sort you a functioning replacement.

hi mate

I reckon it’s a defective pedal. Followed the input gain / sens support as previously mentioned. Literally no filter opening, just a quiet dubdud with the odd random filter popping open.

I got the pedal on the basis it’s great for 80’s style sounds but there’s none in the community app and the similar ones I can find just don’t work. Really gutted tbh.

It’ll need returning as UK retailers don’t give you long at all to return for refund.

If it’s really defective then I’d say it’s a bit premature to write off which sounds do and don’t work as you’ve not been able to play them properly. Get the shop to send you a replacement unit. Where in the UK are you? If you were in Sheffield I’d be happy to assist in getting it set up.

I’m based in midlands. Probably about 1.5hrs away from you.

I’ll speak to the retailer but they are a nightmare to deal with in proving dodgy units etc. I once have a VoxAC30 that didn’t turn on, they refused to accept it as faulty, even though they admitted it didn’t turn on when they received it back. So this is what I’m dealing with unfortunately.

So I’ve gone through the whole process again. Active pickups. Fresh batteries.

Start with the input at 0, standard picking and slowly turning it up. It doesn’t flash red at any point.

So…….

Does this mean it’s not ‘hot’ enough, or it’s fine ?

I had the same experience. The c4 seems to want a very hot signal. I put a boost in front of it and things improved: filters opened and closed reliably, pitch tracking improved, etc. ymmv of course

Just to be clear, in order the see the peak metering on the LED, you need to adjust the input gain via the physical knob on the pedal, not the input knob in the editor. And the pedal needs to be engaged.

Also, check that your pedal is not in WYSIWYG knob mode as if it is, the presets won’t be recalled as they were programmed.

Morning pal.

Yes not touched the adjustments in the app, just purely on the pedal. It’s firing up red when playing how I would as soon as it’s turned. Pedals on hear it etc but yeah it’s immediately red which is bizzare as it’s not been going red at all since I got it.

It’s on the default mode, I’ve tried in preset mode too and neither has any changes to it. It’s bizzare. I’ve watched YouTube videos, read the manual backwards and upside down and support on here.

I’ve been playing for years and have used multiple pedals / kempers etc over the years and never had any issues, can understand instructions, etc but this just doesn’t want to play. Shame really as I had high hopes. Thanks for all your input and help mate. It’s massively appreciated. Happy new year
