Hey guys, I’ve read the first 11 pages but haven’t seen this asked.

1) Is it possible to have a preset that is just a clean octave up? If so, how does it sound?

I like the possibilities of this pedal but I do want just a clean octave up for some things and wondering if this would also serve that purpose, or if I’ll still need a Pog or a TC Sub N Up.

2) How does the sequencing work? It seems like people just go to that preset and play the root note and the pedal does the rest, but how are the notes selected - is it done via the software, or do you record a loop?

Also, what’s the limitation on how many notes, measures, or length it will play?

FWIW, I don’t mind software tweaking. I have an SA Aftershock and love it.

1) Yes you can. I was playing with an Octave up preset a few days ago. It ends up sounding gritty, not as brightly chimey as the ones you mentioned, which sounds a bit better imo and the tracking is awesome but there is latency as usual.

2) The Secuencer allows you to create a sequence pattern of up to 16 notes. In the software there's a section where you can choose from pre-made patterns or design your own. You do this with a series of sliders that go in semitones.

Wow that’s great! Thanks!

There are probably even more C4/Spectrum creations that have not been shared, either not deemed worthy or some that players are being stingy with [guilty on both counts :smug::lock:].

I can never figure out when to share. I've been editing and re-editing and such to the sounds I use since I've had the pedal. I hate to put stuff up then change it and make it better and then the stuff I've put up isn't as good as the new versions but I don't wank to put up variants of the same sounds.

MY early sounds were put up when i thought they were cool, later sounds went up when I recorded them either for my own songs or for others usually when others dug the sounds also. Now I am being a lot more selective as i am sure many folks are, but if i post something it is going to be more polished and textured. Not that complex tones are always better because sometimes those simply created synth sounds are somehow more visceral and direct.

Last I checked, there were something like 40,000 total Neuro presets including not published. HUGE body of work!!!

Snooping, Big Brother! :D I really have an amazing appreciation at the generosity you and your investors, creators and employees have provided to all of us customers and users through the Neuro Database, programs and Source Audio products with your continuing development and support of the products and interaction with us. We can only hope this relationship continues to develop and grow for many years. Thank you.

Guilty here as well... I've got quite a few presets alllllllmmmooooossssst ready to publish. I want to make sure they're good, and I always seem to go back and find something to tweak. Publishing what I've got done is a goal for this weekend. :)

5sg.

I currently have about 11 presets set up on my C4. Of those...I have 5 that are really usable in a live gig. My main goto sound is a credible OC-2 synth clone, fully wet sound. My 2nd sound is a standard mid wet mix octaver, third is an OC-2 clone with a midi enabled expression pedal wah pedal.

That's a lot of presets available!

Has anyone created the equivalent of the SA Manta "setting 5"? I've put together something *close* but I'm curious what others have done (and if you've gotten closer).

5- that is Peak, Notch, Res on the Manta I think:

I have a preset that uses that on the C4 - I used that filter type along with some Foldover distortion to make my Qtron Foldover (sitar peak) - Neuro Community by Source Audio

tried to get nico from SA to set it up for Spectrum but he accidentally published it under his name and left the -1oct on (it wasn’t supposed to be on). So if you have either one you can find it.

Take out the Foldover distortion (it was like having the knob all the way to the right on the manta’s drive) and give it a whirl.
