source audio c4

@Gibs210

More modulation depth, conventional keytracking and fixing the glitch where ADSRs get stuck below the cutoff please. And if real ambitious, mod matrix!!!!

I am 99.9% sure the ASSR stuck below cutoff glitch is an unintentional glitch. I can max cutoff and turn off pitch tracking and still get stuck in low cutoff land when using the ADSR envelope presets. The filter should be effectively bypassed with cutoff maxed.

edit: forgot to request alternate scaling on FM. It goes from subtle to insane in the first 60degrees of knob rotation.

Not sure that any future expansions will be able to fit in the c4, making c4 and hub work are up what little code is left on c4, I’ll keep track but if any make it, it will probably be one of the many options asked for, you guys might want to decide what’s most important to add.

I hope most of what I listed are adjustments that require net-zero DSP resources to implement. Being able to modulate the filter with more depth, replace the key track with a conventional implementation, adjusting FM knob to modulate a bit softer in the first 50% for finer adjustments and fixing the ADSR glitch that has the filter getting stuck below the cutoff would be MASSIVE.

On another note, of all my synths I use 3 most of all: Prophet 12, Minitaur and Razor.

I feel the C4 is most similar to Razor, it shines at unique, edgy, eclectic, complicated tones. The filter types and distortion come in huge here and IMO are indispensable once you have a taste. With compression, delay, and reverb it can be absolutely monstrous. It can get harsh and nasty in a great way. When it comes to edgy leads and bass I've been reaching for C4 over Razor.

So far I can clone some basic analog tones in the C4, but not good enough to reach for it when there is a Moog & Rolands in the room. To hide the pitch tracking tone/glitches with such patches you are limited to only a few envelope behaviors IME. My Razor like patches don't suffer from this due to the free use of the distortion block (love that block).

All in my humble opinion/experience.

Here is a little excerpt that we recorded a little while ago with my edm band (2 percussionists, keyboard player and me), using my 5-string BTB premium and my pedals: You'll hear a dubby bass wobble coming from the C4, controlled by my HH3. So.fun.
Just uploading this so that folks get an idea of what can be done so easily with the C4 (the patch took me about 5 minutes to make, "Wobble Fobble" on the cloud) and how it could sound in a band context.
Thank you Source Audio!!

Alt control switching that lasts longer than 6 seconds. Either latching until you turn it off or an option for something like 15 seconds.

finally got time to mess about this afternoon. got my soleman, hub and C4 sussed. 14 patches. plus 127 which fires macro 126 which is a #CC 102 0 for bypass. assigned to Switch 4 as favorite patch. not sure that is the most elegant way but heck, for this midiot it felt like I got somewhere.

I am definitely approaching the Soleman with my programmer's head on...

I do something similar. I have a patch called "Full Stop" that loads a scene to the hub with pedals bypassed and also sends MIDI CC bypass messages to other pedals. That patch is saved as the favorite on the Soleman, so I can always get to clean with 1 step.

Every 'bank' on my ES-5...the far right button is a patch called CLEAN.

It has MIDI commands that bypass each of the 4 midi pedals and bypasses all loops. No matter what bank I have loaded it's the same on all of them.

It also means I can turn stuff on a la carte (either by pedal or on my DMC3) and turn it all off at once at the ES-5

did anyone get into the C4 with little to no midi experience? I have none, but would love to give this pedal a real shot
Every one has an initial bump / learning curve where Midi is concerned. There's a lot of tutorials and vids out there as it's a well trodden path. For me, I already had Three midi pedals...but when I went for a Boss ES-5 as a switcher and Midi controller...I delved in to the Midi world....it's complicated, but now I wish every pedal was midi enabled.
