So is there a timetable for SA to upgrade the Hub firmware? I have the hub and midi-mouse currently with 4 Soundblox 2 pedals, which works great. I would love to get the C4 and just plug it in as a fifth pedal controlled by the Hub via scenes. When will that configuration be available? I'd rather not invest in more Midi controller devices. Thanks!

We need to study the right approach. It's not simple. Timeline not firm yet.

I'm keeping an eye on this. I already have a Future Impact (rehoused as Future Compact)...but I haven't really implemented it for live use...I'm waiting for the firmware update and editor update, but the promise of polyphonic abilities plus high-grade tracking and stuff like the ability to have arpeggiation and sequencing is making this tempting.

Right now I have both a Boss ES-5 and a Disaster Area DMC-3XL on my board, but really prefer to use the ES-5 to build patches (allows me to layer in both MIDI pedals and general use effects, and also use one unit to go through multiple patches & clean during a song.

Best option if I were to think about this I assume is to get the SA hub, stow it below my board and use it with the ES-5?

arrived today (switzerland), ordered theough a shop in ebay, not available anywhere in europe right now (or i couldn‘t find it...)

will put it through the paces this evening with the fretless, i‘ll try to post some soundfiles

I'm currently using a Boss ES-5 to handle switching and Midi. I have a Neuro Hub that's controlling my SA Aftershock on Midi Ch1 and is working great. Do I find a way to hook up the USB mini port on the SA C4 to a regular Midi Din cable? ie a USB to Midi host adapter or do i need another device...or should i just wait for the Hub to be integrated. Or does the hub already work for switching purposes....just not programming purposes at the moment?

Yeah, sort of not sure how those of us with somewhat expanded MIDI setups can do this...right now I have my MIDI set up:

Disaster Area DMC-3XL->Boss ES-5 (MIDI ch. 4) -> MIDI ch.1->MIDI ch.2->MIDI ch.3.

This allows me to set up patches with MIDI presets on the ES-5 (layers of traditional loops and MIDI pedals) OR use the DMC-3XL to choose pedals activate and scroll on a MIDI pedal.

I'd like to keep this setup...not just use the DA DMC-3XL...But I'm not sure that the C4 will allow this efficacy?

You can send MIDI CC to the C4 via the Hub. Unlike the Aftershock, the C4 has 128 INTERNAL presets. You can send a CC from the ES-5 through the Hub to the C4 and recall any of those presets. The only thing you cannot do currently is add C4 settings to a Hub "scene", as you can with the Aftershock. You also cannot send a PC to the C4. Only CC. So, there are lots of work arounds until full C4 support is in the Hub.

That's awesome. That's pretty much all I need at the moment. I can fill out the 128 internal presets (very sweet) and use the ES-5 via the Hub to CC each preset. Once stock supply has stabilized in the Uk...one will certainly be on my board!

I just watched this video on tone matching the C4 with a modular analog synth. I’ve never seen a modular synth in action so it was cool to see the sounds being built from scratch.



In the C4 Neural app settings, if you don’t set an envelope will the note sustain forever until you play another note? The video didn’t really show that via the guitar+C4 (in contrast, the analog synth happily buzzed away infinitely until they set the envelope :laugh:)

And in a related question, with an envelope defined, can it be set to sustain infinitely? For example could it have the attack set but massive sustain/no decay?

Btw the Bass channel video above is hilarious :roflmao::thumbsup:

In order to control the presets with a midi controller (a line6 helix in my case), the following setup would work?

- i acquire a source audio neuro hub
- i connect a control output of the neuro hub with the control input of the C4
- i connect the helix with a midi cable to the midi input of the neuro hub

so if i send a control message from the helix, it gets send through to the C4 - et voila.

I have a Moog EP-2 Expression Pedal. I did not figured out if that pedal has the "Tip Hot" configuration in order to work with the Hub - any idea, if that is the case? If yes: I can connect the expression pedal to the neuro hub expression pedal and that signal also gets "transmitted" through the control connection between the C4 and the Neuro Hub?
