Source Audio EQ2

Has anyone had any issues with the EQ2 not using the preset you have active's routing correctly?

I have my EQ2 running in stereo in, stereo out, with one path prior to my dirt pedals and another post dirt pedals, to clean them up a bit.

Sometimes when I boot my board up, only the first channel/path is active and the EQ2 ignores the other eq path, and my dirt pedals also make no sound when activated (which makes sense, if that path isn't on)

Maybe it's because I have it set to auto select in Neuro? Shouldn't it just use whatever I have saved for each preset?

Unplugging the eq2 and plugging it back in fixes it, but it's a bit annoying when it randomly happens.
Some others should comment. Yes, auto detect is almost certainly the issue.

I have a strange problem with my eq2. When i turn on the board(all powered from a truetone cs7) the eq2 doesnt respond. Its on but its like its off and nothing happens when you change settings or presets, have to disconnect power from it and back and then it works again. Anyone with similar issue?
Is it on it's own power cable ?
If memory doesn't fail me, I remember someone found out that the EQ2 was sensitive to voltage ramp-up at power on.

Maybe try making sure routing is specifically chosen "Stereo in/ Stereo out" as opposed to "Auto-detect". In the options, make sure the Power-Up state is engaged. I just played a long run of shows with stereo in/out and never had an issue (well, that wasn't user-error).

Yeah, I changed auto detect to stereo in/out to match the preset and current routing I'm trying, and as expected, that seems to have resolved the issue (randomly only using channel 1 when the pedal is booted up, requiring you to unplug the EQ2 and plugging it back in). Thanks for looking at it with me!

imo if may make sense to remove that option in the main settings and just have each preset control the routing, since it's a bit confusing that auto select wouldn't follow what the preset you have active is set for. Maybe I can file a feature request?

Seems like a minor bug. If Auto-Detect senses mono (TS) plugs, it can choose between mono/stereo on either input or output side. And other routing modes would HAVE to be stored in the preset. But if there is a hardware limitation that makes auto-detect not work as it should, then you're right, auto-detect should probably be removed-- hopefully they can figure out what might make it not scan the i/o accurately.

Note that routing is preset specific. It's not global. We have worked with this community on routing support features over many years. Creating more than one preset with different routing might be the best solution?

Yeah, that was the issue though, unless I'm not following... I had it on auto route in neuro and then stereo in out on the preset, but the preset at times didn't work as stereo in out (and it's #1 so it'd boot up using it).

The fix was to change the auto to stereo in out, to remove the boot up and not use channel 2 correctly issue when it popped up.

Shouldn’t you just need to cycle the presets once rather than power down to fix the routing issue?

I would like to have the B1K engaged, and just switch to a new preset on the EQ2 to bring it into the chain.
Ok so I got the B1K is engaged, are you asking how to change to a new preset so that the second input is active, got you. So you know to uses the editor to change preset routing? If I remember correctly it's not global and you'll have to go in a change the routing for that preset.

I'm wondering if it's possible to have an OD pedal (DG B1K) in a loop on the EQ2, so I can have one preset as my main eq, and have a second preset with a different eq curve with the B1K engaged?
Yes, you can use the External Loop routing in a preset to use Output 2 and Input 2 as Send and Receive. When you switch to a normal preset that just uses mono routing your signal will just pass through the pedal normally without going to the B1K.
