Best way to fight GAS is kids :)

Pedals are nice but the need for a new bike, clothes/shoes, or Hello Kitty paraphernalia will always kill GAS dead in its tracks.

Just wait until your kid starts getiing GAS! (I don't have kids, but my sister does. My niece is already an amazing bassist at 16 years old & has better gear than I had as a 21 year old professional! )

Honestly, when that happens, they can just take my gear. :) It will be cool and vintage when they are 16 :)

So, has anyone tried copping a good Tool tone yet?
Let's not turn this into a debate about Tool tone from just one pedal.

But the man has one hell of a tone.

Honestly I've been able to get pretty close. Don't have my ofd in front of me but I used El raton, drive at 11 of clock, left side of clean blend at about 9 o'clock, bass at 11, mid at 3, and treb at noon-1:00. IIRC

I fought getting an OFD for a while, but Andrew got one and I was convinced within seconds of using his. BLOWN AWAY by the El Raton... And yeah, the noise gate is fantastic. For the $144 shipped from Prymaxe, I can't think of a better value, dirtwise.

I checked prymaxe and can't find it at that price. am i missing something or was there a sale?

Hey, so I'm getting a pretty decent face-melt for one of my covers using the following settings:

rat
drive: noon
mix: 9 o'clock
treb: noon
mid: 9 o'clock
bass: off

But does anyone have suggestions for a very slight tube sizzle? Just for the illusion of playing through a big, retro tube head. Not necessarily pushing the heck out of it, just... there.
