Source Audio OFD

I followed the above suggestion as well. It worked for me too. My TS9000 almost songs exactly like my ol' OCD. I'm happy. I did the same on the crunch tube. Worked there too. That's what my issue was, I was adding way to much EQ and not utilizing the blend enough. The OFD rocks!! So happy I got this pedal. Now I'm going to patiently wait for the preamp modulator. Carry on.

I love the OFD because of its blending. Brilliant pedal, and again the best part is you forget it's digital. I mean nobody could tell, blindly, if it was a digital dirt pedal. They'd be completely guessing. So many tones and combinations, best buy for the money. IMO!

maybe I sold my OFD too quickly.....I just couldn't bond with it but after reading the last few posts I might have finally gotten to make it work for me.....oh well, I'm trying out a few other OD's right now but I might get the OFD again before the year is over....

When I got my OFD, I sold my Pork Loin but kept my MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe (I know some hate it, but I really like it) so I could have three different dirt settings. The two settings I currently have saved on my OFD are the Tube Drive and the Metal, which recently replaced a Big Pi setting that sounded pretty much like my MXR BFD, making it a bit redundant. I'm not totally sold on the Metal setting—it needs more tweaking—so it may eventually be replaced with something else.

Th OFD is responsible for so many thing disappearing from my board, it's not even funny.

Th first one to leave was the BlueTube. I don't think the OFD can replicate ever setting/tube combination on the bluetube, but it sure could replace the ones I was using. Then, the Joyo UD was gone, then Pork Loin, now Demon, and DD.

Of course, at the same time I got a Manta, Orbital, Dimension Reverb, Hub, Dual expression pedal, and One Control Gecko. So, technically, SA gear did not help my board space situation one bit.

I found Smooth Tube to be the most unusable model on there - sounded thin and raspy like a preamp tube being overloaded to the point of fuzz, even at low gain. Tube Drive and Crunch Tube were the only models I really liked to be honest.

I tend to gravitate toward some of the more subtle, less face-ripping fuzz sounds, too. But I find some of them pretty cool. And you should give the rat sound another listen. That one is actually my early favorite.

I'm at practice right now and the blending is working so good!!! On the crunch tube it works best to the left side blend for me though. Oh man it's so sweet. I'm finally knocking the ODB3 off. The crunch tube is taking it's place. It's pretty amazing how well the OFD cuts through. I've never used another dirt pedal that cut through as well but still keep massive bottom end in tact. I can honestly say I think I'm set on dirt for a long while. I'm getting the blower box, but that I found out is rat based, so it'll leave me an open spot on my OFD. One for crunch tube and one for the TS9000. Tasty.

Andrew and I test drove the Blower Box last weekend. Pretty killer pedal. We were really blown away by: P bass > Blower Box > Brimstone XD1 > Andrews rack preamps > Mesa M9 Carbine > Bergantino 6X10... The NUTZ. It's one of the very few pedals that seems to really shine, feeding the XD1. If it's RAT based, then that makes sense, because the other pedal that really knocked us out in front of the XD1 is the FUZZROCIOUS RAT Tail...

I fought getting an OFD for a while, but Andrew got one and I was convinced within seconds of using his. BLOWN AWAY by the El Raton... And yeah, the noise gate is fantastic. For the $144 shipped from Prymaxe, I can't think of a better value, dirtwise.
