Source Audio OFD

I recently picked up an OFD and it truly is a wonderful beast. The low gain settings are pretty good, although I use a Beta and Demon for those sorts of purposes, so my main use is the fuzz section.

Anybody got any good settings on the octave? Out of all of them its the one I'm not able to tweak into a sound I can use.

I haven't used the HUB or scenes for a while now, but the OFD octave fuzz is super good sounding. I'll try to decipher my settings later today.

You know, I was going to post about the same thing. I am not going for the Octavia sound. I sat and knob-twirled to try and get it matching my Malekko B:Assmaster's tone. I thought I got close, but in a mix it disappeared, while the Malekko barrels through. So obviously I didn't succeed!

What do others use for a sharp fuzz to cut through a mix when you want to take it over the top? I'm playing with keys and guitar that's more often dripping in effects than heavy overdrive, so I have some space, but the keys also take up a lot of sonic space in the midrange....

My first channel is the TS9000, set up for some extra grind and a little boost for adding energy.

What settings were you using to achieve that? May still be useful when the rest of the band gives space to let it come through.

Someone posted Muff settings in this thread a while ago that I've found to be really effective. Solo it sounds like its going to be far too much, but in a band setting sounds great.

I agree, cutting the mids back a little helps it sit a little better, and a bit of a treble boost allows that Muff sizzle to come through.

I've got the muff on one present and the gated fuzz on the other, but I need some time to play around with that one, seems to get lost quite easily, but I want to use it for more mellow parts of a verse where its mainly bass under singing.

Will the aftershock show in the hub manager as does the OFD bass? Or can it only be tweaked thru the neuro app? Can settings be saved in scenes in the hub manager?
When will the aftershock be available in europe?

The Aftershock will eventually show up correctly in the Hub Manager software and act like the OFD does today. It is a big piece of work, but it is nearing the top of the to-do list.

All the One Series Pedals can be added to Hub scenes. You just cant access them via the Hub Manager software.

Aftershock should start shipping in late Jan/early Feb. Europe 3 to 4 weeks after than.

Picked up an OFD a couple of weeks ago and I love it and the range it provides. That said, I get a very digital sounding, high-pitched whining noise on a lot of the settings. Most of the time I'm running a lower gain setting and the whine increases when I increase the drive. I also like to run a reverb or 2 so I try to keep away from the noise gates. I realize some of this is to be expected given what the OFD does but it's annoyingly prominent. Anyone else have a similar issue?

For context, I'm powering with a gator Gbus-8 and my signal chain is this at the moment: SuperEgo > POG2 > ElecMistress on an LS-2 loop > TR-2 > Space Echo > TC HOF Reverb > OFD

Sounds like typical issues you get with using digital pedals on a shared power supply. And nearly all your pedals are digital! Use separate power supplies for the pedals that introduce noise into the chain or upgrade your Gator to a unit that has isolated outputs. The noise could be originating from another pedal and just being amplified by the OFD however.

As long as the pedal is true bypass, try keeping them all in the audio path in bypass and unplug the power from each pedal one at a time to see if the noise changes. All my digital EHX pedals have suffered from this, I can't run them on a daisy chain because of it.

The Gator power supply is probably not isolated power, which sometimes is necessary to get rid of such noise. As dannybuoy suggested, try powering the OFD on its on power supply. If that doesn't help, try isolating each of the other pedals in the chain and see if the noise goes away with separate power for one of the others.
