The Hub looks out and "senses" the settings of all SB2 pedals. It can capture and save one "scene" and then recall that same scene on all the SB2 pedals. If you feed it a MIDI address (via a MIDI mouse or some kind of MIDI over USB device) it has the ability to save 128 different scenes. Yes, we could have put an LCD screen on it, but it would then become more expensive and more complicated. Hope that explains it!
Do SB2 "scenes" involve both of the presets (both footswitches) on a pedal or merely the presets (footswitches) that you have active at the time of "sensing?"
In other words, can I set up a scene that involves two unique presets (one per footswitch) on my Orbital Modulator and two unique presets on my Dimension Reverb or will the Hub only save (and then load) the active preset on each pedal?

The Hub does not care about presets on a given pedal. It only captures the most current setting.

After some toying with the Tube Drive and TS9000, I was able to get sounds nearly identical to the Darkglass VMT. The midrange sweep and clean blend are the key to dialing it in. I had the drive set at about 9:00 with the knob set just shy of noon. The midrange sweep in this mode is very similar to the ERA knob on the VMT tonally. I had my VMT set for low drive, and it was very easy to match this tone with the OFD. I am toying with my B7K and the OFD to try and find some matching tones, but I haven't had any success as of yet.
So it associates the scene with whatever midi program change last came in ? That's a very neat way of avoiding loads of knobs and displays on the hub
That hub would go very nicely with a Keith McMillen Soft Step. Not so keen on the midi mouse myself, not for changing settings mid-song, anyway.

I found myself writing this on facebook/Organic Bass Wobble when asked about the OFD. Thought it may help to post it here as well.

I have been using the Tube drive and smooth drive more than I expected. I mainly bought this for the Gated and Octave fuzz but have been pleasently surprised about how good the overdrives are. I think one of the key reasons that make the overdrives better is the "High Cut" clean blend. I remember last year a TBer suggesting this to a maker and was actually putting it into some of the fuzz pedals I was building, but now I have it in a professionally made pedal. Pure awesome! IMO this is one of the best modellers for bass I have heard. I was happy with my Zoom MS-60B since it had some interesting distortions with blends and noise reduction patches, but the OFD does the same with even better tones and better features.
To keep things honest though, the Fuzzes have not replaced by IE Oxide. I have tried to reproduce that tone but just can't get the full harmonic range the Oxide does. Still the more flavours of fuzz the better.

I play a lot of stacatto riffs so that is exactly what I need, I've been messing with the gate on the MWBD but I don't feel that much of a difference even when on maximum setting.

Some days ago I made some white noise tests with both MWBD and the Behringer BDI21 that match what you are saying, the BDI21 has a massive band cut around 1kHz, with a rather high Q, that the MWBD just can't do. Also I found that the "traditional" distortions on the MWBD cut a bit to much low.
I am really inclined to get the OFD even before the HUB to use as an (almost) always on pedal. Sadly Thomann still hasn't got them for sale.
The noise gate functionality on the MWBD's was just meant to get rid of any background noise not the hard gating that's possible with the OFD, different purposes for sure.
This Hub thing then.....is there a way to recall scenes on it without an external midi controller like the midi mouse? The idea of having to have the Soundblox 2 pedal as well as the Hub as well as the Midi Mouse is not particularly appealing. I'd only need to change scenes between songs so, as long as I can do it with the Hub, the fact that it's not foot controllable wouldn't bother me. Does it do this? And, if it does, how does one tell which scene has been selected if there is no screen to show it? Thanks!

I picked up the OFD tonight from the great people at Chicago Music Exchange. I was particularly impressed with the Tube Drive, Muff and Metal modes. I'll get a chance to jam on it through all of my gear on Saturday at our studio and I'll be sure to report back my findings. I'm hoping it can bounce the Wooly Mammoth clone off my board as its on the fritz but I didn't hear anything at the store that would convince me it can really do the mammoth sound. It's a cool gated fuzz, but not quite the same, at least not so far. We'll see what I can come up with some tweaks.
Depending what part of the Mammoth you're looking for consider trying the Fuzz Pi and Fuzzface voices, setting Gate=High, no blend, then EQin'g to taste.
The Fuzz Pi seems to have the thickest, meatiest fuzz with a flat EQ. So that might be a good starting point.
Don't let the voicing names dictate what you use them for.
Yeah absolutely. I'm looking for the over the top velcro fuzz from my wooly mammoth. I'm not sure I'll ever get that in a digital model.
Think I'm going to go ahead and take one of these home today. My Sublime is taking up far too much room. Sure I can dial this in close enough and still have an extra OD to play with.
I'm looking VERY forward to trying this pedal out, especially considering that it covers every flavor of distortion I use now plus a bunch I'd love to have around for our current round of studio recording sessions.
I use a Bass Envelope Filter Pro and a Hot Hand 3 now, and they're a lot of fun to use (although they haven't been used in the new album sessions yet). I'm now pondering the possibilities of assigning the Hot Hand to the output knob of the OFD for hand-controlled volume swells...

I've got an OFD coming any day now! Does anyone have any settings they'd like to share? Right now, I'll mostly be using it for syth/electronic stuff. I plan on using the gated fuzz for 1 preset, and probably a different sounding but still synthy fuzz for the 2nd preset (maybe the octave up?).
