Man I really love how clean and compact you made the board. I would love some help getting my set up a little tidy. I'll post a pic of my current setup (I just redid the board this weekend) and some ideas about how I want to use it.

So here is my current challenge. I love FretNoMore's super clean board, and compact to look. Pictured above is my set up, and besides being pretty heavy to carry and use it this way all the time (I commute to the city for all my playing - walking/train/bus), I keep this set up as it's easy to program and work with all the pedals in this way. When I get transport, or going to a session that I can get really creative with I lug the whole thing.

Lately I have been taking the Manta, OFD, and expression off and put in in my gig bag (still kinda heavy). I would like to include the hub and midi mouse too but at that point why not take the whole board?

I would love to figure out a way to make this board a bit more modular, say take the Manta, OFD, Expression, and hub, midi mouse off for commuting. Looking at FretNoMore's, maybe making it a smaller might make it an easier lug...

Any a advice, suggestions, or comments?

One way I've seen it done is having like mini boards with things that you always use together and having the HUB and Expression and Mouse on your "Main I use this stuff all the time" board. This way you pretty much can carry only the boards you need and have them connect to each other with only 2 or 3 wires.

Another thing you can try is to mimic some effects on other pedals. For instance, you can try to make some of the MWBD sounds on the OFD+Manta and only use the MWBD when strictly necessary. The same goes for replacing some of the Orbital stuff with the Manta.

Thanks, now thing I hd trouble with was trying to get a fuzz sound on the Manta- I had a gig where I needed a good fuzz (muff style or approx) and a filter sweep as a second sound. I see the OFD and Manta )plus expression pedal). If I could have just dome it with the Manta (switch one filter, and switch two fuzz only) it would have been great. I just had trouble dialing in a fuzz sound.

One way you can refine the two board idea is use a patch bay of sorts so you can add in the second board somewhere in a good place in the effects chain instead of at the beginning or end. Patch bays are available from pedal builders, or you can DIY if you have just a bit of soldering skills and a drill. I put together such a patch bay for my main board:

Sounds surprisingly good! When you said iPhone recording I expected more clipping and stuff. I like the sound you have here.

Perhaps you should save this setting as the "11th Dimension Reverb" :p

Lol, a friend of mine did the exact same joke.

Most people underestimate the audio quality of the iPhone internal mic because it is a smartphone but I find it to be better than a lot of more "dedicated" devices. It filters a lot of noise and adjusts well to the incoming sound pressure.

@ncabral and @FretNoMore, I wasn't sure of what to make of the fact that you didn't have the same problem, so I tried some things out, and replicated the problem. Here is video evidence that I'm not crazy, and of a new problem, although in both cases, it's actually very complex. I replicate the problem under certain conditions but not others.

First, here's the Manta preset video. Basically, you can see that I am certain I engage preset 2, edit it, try to save it by holding the button, but nothing happens---when I let go, the preset turns off, and when I engage it again, the filter change I had made did not stick.

The odd thing is, I was able to get it to work immediately upon firing up the whole system---I saved a preset in preset 2 the way I wished. But then this was the behavior after using the Hub and loading some different scenes...including one which overwrote preset 2, I believe (because I have that new option selected).

*Sigh* On a completely different note, I also experience this with my OFD...that it kept switching to a particular sound automatically, even after disengaging the pedal. This quick Vine doesn't show the half of it...even when I selected preset 2, it switched back to preset 1 with completely different settings (including effect type) automatically! For several minutes I could not get it off of this sound at all. What this video doesn't show in detail is that sometime it would come back on immediately, other times it was several seconds, but it came back on to preset 1 (even when I selected preset 2!) without fail.

It didn't stop doing this until I hooked up my laptop running the Hub Manager to the Hub itself. I'm not sure what I did to get it to stop, but it did stop sometime after doing that.

In general, I don't know what I'm doing to run into so many edge cases and get these bugs and glitches. Is it just my particular units, or am I doing something weird? I also find the Hub Manager to be VERY unstable. It crashes at least once almost every time I'm using it. I'm using a very new Macbook Pro, so I don't think it's the computer.
