Sounds like tap temp might be on? Otherwise, try a factory reset. As always, send a note to [email protected] and we will do what it takes to make you happy!

@rsmith601 first of all I absolutely admire your company's forward thinking ability and adore you all for it. Having said that, I'm interested to know what's next. As in what's in the works? Please don't take it the wrong way, you've all given us so many useful tools. Just curious to know what's over the horizon as you've become my go to first thought. Thanks.

The man himself will have the truest answers, but what I've collected from this and other threads is:

Synth pedal - distant future
Delay - distant future
Hub2 - another year or so?
Exp pedal2 - this year?

Rsmith feel free to correct or elaborate (add new products!)

The rubber ring holder for my hot hands ring has torn after many faithful years. Does anyone know of a place within Australia that I could get just the rubber bit?

Does anyone know of any other solutions to this problem? It's only the rubber tail lookin' part, I've been using hair elastics to keep it on my finger for quite a while, but I'm looking for something a little more secure and that involves less blood flow cutting.

Wow. You guys are good!

Synth Pedal - Work continues, but it remains more of a research project than actual product development.

Delay - Lots of work was done on this about 2 years ago. Now that we are so much further down the path of knowing how to exploit the SB2 housing and interface, it might be time to get this going again. It would be a delay pedal, and NOT a looping pedal.

Hub 2 - Work continues. Nothing near term.

Hub Manager 2.0 software - Supports file sharing and lots of cool things. 4-6 weeks out. It is turning out to be a bit more complex to implement than originally thought.

Digital Expression Pedal - This is NOT a replacement for the Dual Expression Pedal. You know how we tend to take a product concept (such as the EQ) and then we take it to all kinds of new places not yet explored? Well, the DEP does this big time.

Longer term - We need to find a way of delivering the Source Audio experience to those who find our SB2 line to be a bit overwhelming.......but do so in a manner that keeps them highly flexible and powerful.

In summary, we have a really interesting mix of technical capabilities in the company that few can match, plus a vision for how this can shape future pedal boards. We will continue to push those themes moving forward!

Really, the SB2 format is pretty easy to navigate. Fortunately, there aren't a lot of "bad" sounds available & simply dialing the knobs to 'noon' yields great tones to begin with.

I think that the multiple function knob confuses some plug&play folks. Having to hold buttons down to reach backpage parameters or understanding that 'that knob' now is controlling something totally different can be daunting to old-skoolers. It's not a problem for me, but I get it when players don't want to mess with menus or extra steps. There is something satisfying and comfortable about having a knob you can see where it's at.

I wonder how Empress' sales have been when they broke down their multi-feature pedals into smaller, simpler mono tasker pedals?

Maybe some of Source's best tones put into a simpler package with less backpage features to navigate? All of the knobs would be independent. Better yet, knobs with lighted indicators that show you the setting. but allows presets that you always adjust from that point. Everybody loves presets, but not having to 'zero' the knobs to see where you are to start from helps to make small changes on-the-fly! Like the ring of lights around the center knob on an SB2, but the lights indicate where the knob is set.

I guess it's all about gambling on which features will really be most important to the consumer! For the rest of us, the tweakable SB2's are good as-is.

Methinks you *might* get more traditionalists and skeptics on board if you touted the signal quality and sample rate stats more. 24 bits is really good in the digital compact pedal market. I don't know the sampling rate, but it sounds like it must be high to me!

Nobody's gonna be fooled that Source makes anything other than digital pedals, but if you embrace it & keep advertising the sound quality people eventually open up to it. Strymon has gained almost universal guitarist approval with their 24bit 96k conversion.

Thanks so much for the info! First though could you elaborate on the DEP?
I've got a dual expression in a cart on a website ready to go when i can pull the trigger. Would love to know if I'd rather wait on this guy.

DELAY PEDAL!!! YES. analog, reverse, tape echo, tap tempo, etc. Would be a killer in the market. You all could improve soooo much over the cookie cutter delays in the market. VERY INTERESTED.

Last I'd like to make a suggestion. What about a POG/whammy killer? I'm talking an SA PITCH MACHINE. Octaves, intervals, pitch gliding with old school glitch/warble and smooth polyphonic shifting as well. Up and down interval options and maybe even a DOD meat box model to get sub octave harmonic tones. Of course make it sb2 and able to pitch shift with hot hand or dual exp. This would be a terrific win for you guys IMHO. As always thanks source!

It is going to be bigger, heavier, and much more expensive (like $200). It is still 6 months away. Can't say more at the moment. :hiding:

I only had 10 minutes to play with the OFD so far today, but my first impression is that it's fantastic. One thing I didn't try yet is the right side of the blend knob, where it just blends in the original signal's lower frequencies.

Also: it's small! I knew it was a lot smaller than the Pro SA units I have, but it was still surprising.

SA delay and pitch pedals would be awesome!
I have the EQ and Orbital, planning to get OFD, Dimension, and Manta.

One question that has perhaps been answered many times already... Would it be possible (without the Hub) to upload/download/edit parameters and presets on the various boxes via direct connection to a computer? That way I spend time crafing things at home, save my patches on computer, and then go to the gig loaded with the two presets I plan to use that night.
