Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Soooo how many of us would buy, or even TRY, a One Series pedal like that?

I would. I really would.
The plan is to create a small format envelope filter pedal, a small format octave pedal, and an underlying editor architecture that is common to both. If you want to add pitch effects to your filters, you can. If you want to add filters to you octave pedal, you can. I hope to publish the architecture block diagram soon so you get the picture.

Very exciting I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them!

So, just to comment on this for a moment.

Ventris and Nemesis were soooooo expensive to develop. Thankfully, many people have purchased them at relatively high prices and we live to make more pedals another day. Delay and reverb are in a small class of product where if you do a big complex thing, lots of folks will pay for it. How many folks will pay $300 or $400 for an envelope filter? Few. If we did one, we would be killed by high development cost and low sales. If not for the bass wobble thing, the BEF Pro would have been a huge miss. AND, that was only $229...….not $300 or $400.

So, I need to find a way where I can give you all the following:

Our complete envelope filter library
plus
Lots of distortion options
plus
A complete library of Octave and pitch stuff

IN SUCH A MANNER THAT,

we can sell enough pedals at the right price point so that we can keep going and you all can be happy. (AKA win-win, habit #4)

I will share more in a bit.

I'm gonna buy a coin pig just to start saving for this from now on. What you described is the stuff wet dreams are made of.
Don't forget that for dirt options a gated fuzz, a foldback distortion and a tubey overdrive are "must have" options to use with an envelope filter.

This sounds amazing and I can't wait!!

All this from Manta ..... And more.

Also, there are so many ways I could see the Aftershock benefit from a dual footswitch enclosure like the Nemesis. I would love an Aftershock where I have built in footswitches to remap and more space on the face for knobs. I would upgrade immediately. 7 knobs, like the Nemesis, could be used so well with the Aftershock's parameters and the rotary select knob used to select Delay types would work well for selecting drive types.

The Aftershock has such a deep set of parameters for a dirt pedal that remapping the knobs feels limited because there are so few knobs. Tweaking the Aftershock live is a bit of a nightmare for me. If there were more knobs to remap I wouldn't have to unplug Input 2, kneel down while I set up and use the Neuro app, fiddle, and reconnect my board to test the final tone in the mix. At home, I absolutely love Neuro on my computer, but I would love to have more control on the face of the pedal for easier tweaking in the moment.
If only the big pedals were not so expensive to develop!

Do you guys do custom work? I'd really invest in a large format distortion pedal that incorporates the LA lady, Aftershock, and King Maker. You guys are great with names I'm sure that pedal would get something epic.
If some big company paid us $500,000 to create such a thing, I would say yes. It literally costs us hundreds of thousands to create things like Ventris and Nemesis. I am not kidding.

...I'm actually not certain if i would even like a Oneseries style bass filter...

Before you say 'never' try to imagine the possibility of 50 new parameters and 10 new filter voices that a One Series filter might some day provide. Then imagine the possibility of a dual-filter engine, assuming that's possible as seen with the other One Series and now you can create opposing-movement filters to create endless vowel-y sounding synth tones from your dreams. SA has done such as awesome job providing routing, params, layering features in the new One Series it opens so many sonic doors.

I really like using two filters parallel with opposite sweeps. My old SA:BassEnvFilter parallel with my 3Leaf Groove used to sound so good.

I'd certainly be interested in this. Given that it'll be digital, I'd love to see much more in the way of independent envelope attack and decay shaping and the addition of a fully shapable, triggered (ADS(R)) envelope. This would be great for synth-inspired sounds.

All this from Manta ..... And more.

I know... but in a smaller format and with the tweakability of the Neuro app (that can open some of the options available in the BEF Pro with so much more...) and, as someone else said, with the possibility of dual filters (series or paralel).
Honestly, the smaller pedal form for me is what makes this pedal with all these options a dream filter for me.
If you are thinking of developing it with a separate octave pedal that can get that OC2 sine tone but also the Mutron tone, and diferent pitch options, and do the POG thing, AND has the ability to share a common arquitecture with the filter, for me it would also be the ultimate Octave pedal for me.
So, please take my money right now... please... just do it...

Just bought my first Source Audio pedal, the Mercury Flanger, will be here Tuesday. I've had the phone app for a couple of weeks just so I could see how it functions, no actual use of it because no SA pedal to plug into the phone/app. Desktop app of course requires a pedal to be plugged in just to even see anything. So patiently waiting on Tuesday. Really hyped about this purchase and the possibilities it opens up.

You can now see everything in the Desktop app with no pedal. Under the "VIEW" menu, select Offline Device Editor. I asked for that feature!!! :)
