What a frustrating pedal board re-org. I had forgotten that I have to reconnect my Mercury, AS, and Hub independently to USB to really mess with them. Sure would be nice if I could connect to one central unit that I could use to configure the other pedals. With that awesome octave/filter pedal coming out, I don't know that I'm up for having to constantly plug and unplug for the deepdiving. If only I could connect my laptop to one thing and be able to work with all the components, that'd be swell.

Wow, that was easy! Ok, let me try: I wish there was an affordable but awesome synth/filter/octaver pedal from a company that really listens to its customers. Gee, a fella sure could be pretty happy with one of those.

While on the topic of cables, I e had insanely good experience with the Lava Tightrope as well. There is a video they made showing exactly how to make them (very specific way to do it) which is a pain and time consuming but as mentioned, it’ll be solid. Never had one fail either.

BUT, being that they take a few minutes to make a cable, and with all the pedal moving I do, I got a sample set of 3monkeys solderless cables and had to end up buying my own kit. I kid you not, these are the best cables ever. Cut them, twist on the plug, that’s it. It literally takes 3 seconds and you’re done, and just like the Lava cables they have never once failed after a year or so. The only drawback to them is they are Really expensive!

Oh my I Need those 3monkeys... my lava ones never worked, no matter what I did just couldn’t get it right... I like the planet waves ones I have with just out on and tighten screws but the plugs are sooo big. Looks like the 3konkeys could solve all of that!

From what I've been seeing in the demo videos released, I feel that this pedal will be a game changer in the synth pedals zone.
Not only will it have an imense advantage due to it's size and format, but it solves a lot of problems that many other pedals have, which is triggering and tracking. And with the options that it has due to the neuro app, it will be unbeatable.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these...

Hey guys! Thought I'd finally chime in on this thread after months of lurking and acquiring SA pedals. Turns out I forgot I had a talkbass.com account and now I have the "old school" achievement for being on here for over 10 years. Sorry for the hiatus...

it all started with wanting to find a more diverse filter than my Q-tron+ (with Big Muff in the effect loop) from the late 90's/early 2000's. Found the manta and now a few months later I feel like I should get a S.A.S.S # !!! Please check the board out, decided to go nearly all MIDI and now have a bunch of pedals I need to sell to make up for all the cash I just dropped lol.

Here we go: got a Bass Whammy (with a Molten Voltage Riff-Step for fun)-> MXR Bass Comp (for leveling out transients)-> SA Aftershock-> SA Multiwave BD(got it on ebay with the HH3 for $130, couldn't past it up)-> SA Manta (and Neuro Hub the w/HH3)-> Fuzzrocious Demon King-> TC Spectracomp (for a solo/slap/boost comp) -> Line6 M9(handling reverb/flanger/delay/loop duties)-> SansAmp v2-> TC Wiretap (for grabbing licks before I forget them). Soleman is handling MIDI duties for the Hub and Line6, still working on adding the Whammy control but I did get it working.

Also I just returned the SA Dual Expression for the SA Reflex as I found I wanted independent control over which EXP was active. I did do some experiments on the Dual Expression and found that I could rig up some switches to disconnect line 3 or 4 on the JST connector to select but an hour later decided to go all out and get the Reflex before they are gone forever..


So that brings me to the quandary that brought me to post...

Don't think it is possible- But will the HH3 going from it's sensor out into the 'Multi Function Input' on the Reflex work to either control the output of the Reflex or pass through its information to the Neuro hub? Kind of a MIDI through for SA TRRS stuff. Know the main MIDI on the Reflex will MIDI merge so I had a glimmer of hope that these 1/8" connectors would also.

Wanted to see if I could send the HH3 into the Reflex and send that information from the Reflex 'sensor out' into the Neuro Hub. Right now I'm using EXP1 to the Line 6's exp2, EXP2 to the Soleman (which is midi controlling exp1 on the Line6), and EXP3 to the Neuro's EXP IN. HH3 is in the Neuro's sensor input. It works fine but I'm tying up one of the Reflex's analog outputs to send it to the Neuro to be converted back to digital.

Best case scenario-use the Hot Hand to virtually control the treadle position (including the analog outs) or at least have it pass its information on to the Neuro Hub by daisy chaining the TRRS (HH3->Reflex multi function input -then- Reflex sensor out->Neuro Hub sensor in). When I do this now I get a fast blinking light on the HH3 receiver and no other power to the HH sensor. Also just tried powering the HH sensor box manually and using the TRRS into the multi function input on the Reflex. No Joy.

Got a feeling I'm down a discontinued rabbit hole but all my google-fu hasn't turned anything up other than a post from @Adamixoye where I thought he used the HH3 into the Reflex but I can't locate the post in the 340+ page thread right now.

Anyway- if anyone can help I'd appreciate it! Love this stuff!

Cool setup. The Reflex is discontinued?? I was trying to decide what expression pedal to pick up, still kind of unsure. I think the dual express might be good enough for me, can plug it right into the hub, right?

I own both the HH3 and Reflex but have not used them in this way. I'm actually not sure how the 1/8" ports on the Reflex are intended to be used or what their functionality is supposed to be. Maybe @rsmith601 or @nnavarro can weigh in?

Could also ask Proton Lenny he makes extensive use of the Reflex, though I can't remember if he has done much with the Hot Hands.
I am also sad that the Reflex is discontinued, it is on my "must buy" list for sure.

The Multi-function input was never implemented. The only 1/8" function is an expression out that works with the Control Inputs on SB2 and One Series.

Well from the man himself! Thank you for hitting me back so fast.

Having the mode led light up when I tried it made me wonder. Probably just picking up some back feed power from the primary circuit, maybe 3.3v. (Edit- yep, 3.3v on tip and second ring, 1.6v from sleeve and tip.)

All good though it’s a great pedal and a great system. You guys are keeping the dream alive, if I lived up north I’d have a job in your lab by now . Love to tinker and love music.

I’ll definitely pick up the Spectrum when it comes out!

Thank you! Lots of funk and dirt to go round. And yep the dual expression pedal does have the TRRS output on one side for going straight into the Hub’s sensor input if you’re not using the Hot Hand.

My only issue with the Dual was that both sides were simultaneous out at all times and sometimes I wanted to leave the Manta’s frequency where it was and just have the other output control a tremolo or something else. It’s doable by drilling the enclosure and installing 2 disconnect switches (see my breadboard thumbnail pic in the other post) on wires 3 & 4 but I’ve already got midi control and went all out for the reflex.

Oh and I didn’t want to cram a second exp pedal on the board either.

I suppose I could just try this, but a short hypothetical: if two One Series were connected by a TRS cable (out of input 2 in both cases, as though each were being connected to a Neuro app device but instead they are connected to each other), would there be a downside or any side effects?

I do have an odd but legitimate reason for asking, which I can elaborate on as necessary.

Thank you, this is actually not what I was asking but if I understand it this would work. I hadn't really looked into this. So I can connect all of my pedals in "series" on the 2nd input/outputs, and then talk to both pedals with the Neuro app connected to the first one? If I'm just running my audio mono does it matter which order I put them in?
