Understood. You're controlling the Hub with your HX. The HX seems to be capable of being used as a MIDI controller. I believe you'd be connecting it to the hub via the 5 Pin DIN jacks (though the Hub does have a USB port which you might be able to transmit Midi to the Hub, but it wouldn't act as a host device for individual pedals).

I don't believe the Hub works as a USB host, but it can definitely interface with the One Series including the C4 and Spectrum. In that situation you would connect the C4/Spectrum it to the hub via 1/8" TRRS.

I'm actually curious if the Hub can also pass through direct pc/cc messages to the C4/Spectrum, or if it will only be able to receive Hub scene messages from a controller? The way the Hub is designed, from my understanding, is to store presets which include the bypass state and pc# of a group of pedals. If for example the C4 is on channel 1, spectrum on channel 2, kingmaker on channel 3, and the Hub is channel 4, my understanding is that your ES-8 (or DMC-3XL) will only be able to send messages on channel 4 to the Hub and not pass through Midi messages to channels 1-3 (the individual pedals). But if you create a scene where you just engage C4 with preset #7 (pc#6), then you can save that as scene 1 for example on the Hub and be able to recall that by sending PC#2 to channel 4 (preset 1 to the hub), as opposed to the pedal directly.

This has been stated repeatedly on this thread; there is no C4/Spectrum Hub functionality besides MIDI CC pass thru. Those 2 pedals cannot receive Hub scene messages yet.

Yep. I think there may be others like me who are really getting the hub to act as a MIDI-host rather than to act like it does with other SA pedals.

Speaking of which...I've placed my order for the SA C4 and the Neuro Hub. Not in stock but they're saying next week for arrival.

I'm going to eyeball the Neuro Hub in terms of my placement (under-board) and if it looks like a winner, I'll keep it, otherwise I'll return it and order the Micro-Ghost from DA. The published dimensions suggest that the Neuro Hub is 1.4 inches tall while the Micro-Ghost is 1 inch tall, other than that they're basically the same.

I DL'ed the current C4 manual the Hub manual and I've grabbed the iphone software as well as the desktop.

Yeah. Or just burn it to the pedal via the app. But again, I tried that yesterday and it kept crashing. But I'm sure they are working on it. I know SA has a ton going on right now.

We are close to having everything fixed. The only remaining issue is if you try to use the Mobile App and a C4 to access a Spectrum preset, the app will crash. It's a simple fix, but it will take a couple of days.

Got my DMC Micro hooked up today. Working beautifully to scroll through presets.

Setup was a breeze, large in part to the video that Disaster Area posted on this thread.

Question out of curiosity...

noticing that with the Micro hooked up to the C4 that when the C4 is on the large active light blinks slowly. Usual functionality?

Okay...now I'm really looking forward to my C4. But sure, the Manta already was already a great one. So it was obvious the filter part would be good. Really really curious about the Octaver sounds now.

Yes actually. I never intended to buy the C4 to replace my pedals. After playing with parameters in Neuro I've been able to create octave tones and filter tones that eliminate my need for standalone pedals.
I've created an octave preset that absolutely beats any standalone octave pedal I've tried. This is due to how I setup the preset.

The preset is a Monophonic - 1 octave, Sine wave - 1 octave (think DOD Meatbox), and dry input all at once.
The dry input is passed through the pedal on one of the Voice blocks, Mono Input 1. This takes the signal from input 1 and passes it through the pedal. The signal I'm feeding into input 1 is my high passed signal path with Mastotron fuzz. Additionally I've remapped knob "Control 1" to control the volume of Mono Input 1, allowing me to cut or include my Mastotron in this "Fuzz Octave" tone and "Control 2" controls the volume of the Sine wave sub octave if I want to turn off the eyeball-vibrating sub octave.
Surprisingly, running the Mastotron into the C4 has no effect on the octave tracking.

This is so much more flexible than my old MXR BOD - Mastotron combo.

I could emulate the GR with a C4 preset but I don't have one. I can look into making one later.
The flexibility of the C4 made the GR redundant.
I took the GR off of the board because the C4 can cover the sweet spots I used to dial in on my GR. Additionally the C4 is able to create true synth envelope filter tones, not just "synthy" tones as we often describe Octave+Fuzz+Filter pedal combos.
imo This is because there are a wide variety of envelope following options available which all trigger at the input, rather than the traditional Octave+fuzz+filter effect combo where the envelope is being fed an input saturated by fuzz and octave pedals which kill dynamics.
