What version on the Desktop?

Is it not possible to burn compatible presets to a device? My current problem is that I'm trying to burn an LA Lady preset to one effect selector position of my Aftershock, but it just won't stick. Burning Aftershock presets works without any problems.

Anyone have any suggestions for a hub that’s reading and totally uneditable midi map???? I updated everything and I went to set up my hub again and I pull my midi map up and every single CC# is unassigned. Ok. But then I go to pull down to assign what CC I want it to do and all it gives me is “unassigned”. I can’t assign any messages. What the heck happened?!

Oh, and after I open up midi mapping, the neuro desktop crashes after a min or two.

Thanks. Interesting, but my Aftershock seems to reject LA Lady and Kingmaker presets. I can send them to the pedal temporarily, but once I try to burn them, they won't stay.

Putting this question here because you guys are MIDI whizkids:

I've been super inspired by @BurningSkies in depth run down of his pedalboard, so I decided I'm going to setup a pedal switcher and MIDI for my Source Audio pedals. Can you guys validate me that my setup will work/make sense? I want saving presets to be as easy/dummyproof as possible, and my goal is to have two MIDI devices connected simultaneously (a SA Hub and an RJM Micro Effect Gizmo).

I'm hoping to use an RJM Mastermind LT (or alternatively a Source Audio Soleman) 's first MIDI output to the Hub - connecting the Hub to my C4, Nemesis and Ventris should be as easy as connecting to the top aux plug, selecting my desired settings on each pedal, and finally holding down the Save button on the Hub to overwrite the first "preset" on the Mastermind LT.

Simultaneously, I want the Mastermind's second MIDI output to the RJM Micro Effect Gizmo, where I'll have five pedals in the effect switcher. I'll be able to select each pedal I want "on" for that preset, then capture those settings onto the first "preset" on the Mastermind LT.

My question is, both of these actions won't overwrite the other, right? I'll be able to have one preset send MIDI control messages to two devices at the same time, right?

I just tested this and it works fine. I think what is happening is that you are in GREEN mode. When you burn a preset in GREEN mode on the Aftershock, the knobs are WYSIWYG when you come back to the sound. So, I think the sound is there, it is the knob positions that are taking you to another place from what you expect. RED mode will change this.
Also, note that the C4 has programmable options around the behavior in RED and GREEN modes. It is a different animal than the Aftershock. The C4 manual Auf Deutch should be on the Warwick web site. Might be easier than English. Ich kan deutch, aber englisch is viel lichter!!!

Remember that the MIDI outs on the LT aren't both 'outs' You have a send and a receive. Assuming that's your master controller, you'll want it LT>Gizmo>Hub or LT>Hub>Gizmo. That way when you send a preset 'down the line' it will control both the devices you set up. So you'd set up patches on your controller/foot-pedal that did both the Gizmo's loop choice and the hub passes signal to the connected SA MIDI devices. Now, I haven't spent time with the hub yet to play with it, but I assume you'd assign MIDI channels to the pedals and it would pass fine. Otherwise you'd need to build 'scenes' on the Hub and then use the controller to 'trigger' the patch on your Gizmo + the scene on the Hub.

I don't think the save on the Hub would do anything on the LT, you'd program your presets on that separately and you'd program your 'scenes' on the Hub if you need to on that unit. So you have the potential for a few layers of 'programming/saves' here.

-LT where you'll set up patches that pick the patch on the GIZMO that you've built + any other Midi pedals
-GIZMO where you've built patches of the loops available.
-The Hub (if you need to set up scenes). I know that the hub passes MIDI to the C4, so I assume that it does it with the others and you don't need to create scenes but I could be wrong, I haven't looked at stuff beyond the C4 or Spectrum.

I thought about that too, but the engines don't change either, i.e. if I burn a preset with a Klone engine to a position that for example has a Bigger Pi, the Pi engine stays (or rather returns as soon as I put the toggle in that position). It's really only an issue with Lady and Kingmaker presets, Aftershock presets work fine. I don't have a C4…yet.

I dunno man. Those RJM controllers are really slick but the Soleman also is a nice unit. I honestly don't think there's an issue either way, and there's no adverse side to daisy chaining MIDI components so, if that is what's giving you concern, I wouldn't stress it too much. It'll work either way.

'setlist mode' is a nice feature though. Our guitarist spends about 20 minutes before every show moving the presets around on his timeline to match our setlist to ratchet through things. But if you have a good controller with a number of presets (both of those controllers do) and a few banks, it's not bad either.

I was trying to map it on the Hub. Not the C4. Because I thought that's what I was trying to map. Was I supposed to be mapping the C4 you think??

They have one less Hub available, actually... I caved earlier this morning and ordered a C4 / Hub combo. (Like I needed much arm twisting. lol) I'm fairly deep into the Future Impact, so looking forward to an interesting shootout (especially with the pending FI update, hopefully here soon!). Checking out the Neuro community patches will be a definite time sink as well, and I'll hopefully be able to upload some of my own to contribute back.

Hmmm... Might have to revisit the Aftershock as well. I passed mine along because I felt I wasn't really using it's full potential, but that was before I started getting into MIDI. Now that I have a Hub on the way, maybe worth a second trip.
