So can the C4 cop an analog octave down?

Yes.
The first preset I created when I got the C4 was a replacement for my entire MXR Bass Octave Deluxe. Since then I've developed the preset further into something more useful to me than the BOD ever could have been.

Some great presets in there! Gonna download several, if not most. I especially like the Moog sound! I already used one of your Triple Threats as a foundation for one I did with a sequencer added. This ability to share presets is amazing. Just wish there were more Spectrum presets, so I could try accessing those sounds more.

Yup in 4 voices and multiple octaves with or without distortion, attack, filter and lfo. There are several OC2 versions for sampling already all very good

Yep, and tracks amazingly! And it does the OC2 synth thing really well!

I just got the C4 and am just getting to know it. My main use for it is for an envelope filter and octave. I suppose I could've gotten the spectrum, but the c4 just makes more sense for the price difference. I'm hoping to like it well enough to replace my Filter Twin and Octamizer pedals.

I can almost gaurntee it won't even break a set replacing those pedals. Depending on what/how you are using them.

Whenever I start having issues I have learned to check for updates on the Neuro Desktop and firmware as updates have been coming fast and furious these first few weeks. You have to go to the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] page and check manually for the current version.

Yeah I have been distracted lately. New promo at work, more hours and totally different shift. Gonna be weird for a while. But I'll try that stuff tonight. Thanks for the reminder dude!

It most certainly can. Even the gloriousness of the OG OC2. Better actually. You can control the blend and output better. Lots of OC2 presets already made.

To be honest, I’ve got a bit fixated on the synth aspects but I’ll have a go at some plainer filter sounds in due course. Sadly I’m pretty busy this weekend so won’t get to have a programming session again until Tuesday.

Indeed, sir. Just being impatient. Thought using the desktop editor would allow the C4 to be read as if it were a Spectrum hooked up to my computer, so I haven't been able to check out the factory presets and have that as an ability to wade into the shallow end of the pool before diving deeper.

@Johno Dunn Questions? You are using the DMC.micro with the C4.
1. What does the dis[play show when selecting a patch for the C4? Patch Number or Name?
2. Does the C4 switch activate the effect on/off?
3. Are you using the DMC.micro to control any other efx at this time? If so which ones? Tell me how that works if you can. I am planning to use the Aftershock and a Zoom MS60B all hopefully controlled by the DMC.micro.

1. Just the preset number. I’m lobbying for the mobile app to show which preset you are on! We’ll see! Roger?
2. Off or on depending on the status of the C4. There might be a way to do it differently, but that’s a question for someone else. I’m just happy I got it to work!
3. No. My 60B is only for ZNR, light compression, Para EQ, and tuner. I think you would need a Hub, a gHost Hub or both. Again, a question for someone more Midi-intelligent than I.

Sorry, that bit about the Spectrum presets was a general (impatient) gripe. I know finding the time that this pedal deserves has been a hard enough task with my schedule as hectic as it is. This weekend I'll have my first rehearsal with the C4, so quite interested to see how the pedal settings and sounds work amongst the cacaphony. Gonna choose 6 tasty presets and let the bass bombs drop where they may.

The C4 legitimately ranks as one of the best envelope filter pedals of all time. The original idea was to have a One Series BEF. Then Bob tricked me into putting all this other stuff in there too!!!

I'm glad he did. The original BEF always had a special place in my heart, and on and off my board for the last 8 or 9 years. Happy there's a compact update that I can keep in place once and for all.

The C4 is simply amazing. The fact that it can do synth, filter, octave, fuzz and tons more and it can do it with extreme versatility to the point it does almost any sound you can think of, just plain rules! It fills so many roles for a guy like me. It's simply a game changer in more ways than one.

To me you have nailed what makes the C4 so different from other things. Splitting hairs over this sound or that vs some other thing is not relevant. C4 is a very flexible synth pedal with one of the best all time envelope filters. No one has done that combination before, let alone in a small box with a deep editor and simple preset sharing. Well, at least you all get it!!

Count me in as someone who is using the desktop editor and can't get a Spectrum preset to load on the C4. Haven't tried mobile yet.
