Hi all,
I just ordered a C4 synth pedal after reading all the great reviews.
I am entirely new to the synth pedal world, so please pardon my ignorance here.
I am wondering if anyone knows of, or has even better, a believable piano patch?
I'd like to double my regular bass guitar sound with an acoustic piano sound if this is possible?

Plus, I want to get better with the pedal before I set it and forget it, which I'm more than apt to do. But I'm glad the in depth Hub discussion will be here when I need it in the day it's needed. So keep it up, I shall need copious help.

Yes, it's called Run Like Hell Verse, as that's what I was designing it for. I also had the Dimension Reverb set on Plate 2, I believe, and the Ocean's 11 and Canyon both set to Shimmer. Then I just conjured up some feedback that would trigger the synth and moved the bass around, letting it die away, and roar back to life.

I just have to say it again, the C4 is simply amazing. It’s insane how much you guys have packed into the C4 and all the things you’ve made it capable of. I still can’t believe it’s a reality and it’s on my board. Just so nuts! Still completely geeked on it. And most likely will be for a long time yet. It’s like the HX to me or in that same realm of “wow I can’t believe all this is in here and it’s on my board!!!...oh, and it can do THIS TOO!?! And THAT TOO!!!!??”.....just mind blowingly amazing.

I have yet to ever come across a piano patch. Even EHX, which has made 5 keyboard emulating pedals, the B9, C9, Key9, Mel9, and Synth9 haven't gotten a piano sound. They get nice electric piano, though, I'm not sure how well it tracks on bass. The organ stuff did okay for a few settings, but the Key9 and Synth9 I believe only tracked to open A. I would think the much higher sounds of a piano would be hard to replicate, especially with the bass being the input instrument. I'd love to see someone come up with one, though. That and a french horn.

Hmmm. The quality of tracking is one of the main reasons I chose the C4. All the reviews I read talked about how well it tracks.
On the piano patch, I don’t really expect it to fool my ears into thinking it’s a real piano. I’ve never heard a synth that actually sounded like a real piano to my ears.
But a good one would be nice.

The tracking on the C4 is better than any other synth/octave pedal I've played, definitely way better than the EHX Key 9 and B/C9 that I've tried. I think that you'd likely be able to create a docile piano-esque tone, but likely won't get the same kind of percussive action.

As Stam says, the C4 tracks extremely well. My reference to deficient tracking for bass was only on those EHX pedals. Which isn't a design flaw, it's the guitar pedals being used by bassists. The C4 is made with bass in mind, so you'll find it tracks super fast and clean.

There are 2 yeah patches, Yeahhhh: Neuro Community by Source Audio and Pony by @Annette : Neuro Community by Source Audio You might have the first one?

I love the one I have and it tracks all up and down by 5 string Lakland bass. I think it’s Pony as I remember playing ride that pony the first time I tried it. Used it for the lead on Roses are Free too. Hilarious. Oh and the lead on Chameleon (using the Chameleon preset to lay the bass line down on a loop). Love the yeahs!

There is a third one also - but try Pony and report back.

The stock sounds on the Aftershock are durn good I used them for quite a while before digging in, I hope i cloud saved them just in case I decide to dump my creations or decide to get a NeuroHub (about 50/50 atm)

I recently got my C4 and was able to play with it a bunch this weekend.

Wow, just wow. This is the best synth pedal I've ever used and I've been through a bunch (FI, SYB-5, Mothership 2, IE Subterranea, Matryoshka)

It sounds great, the tracking is incredible, it's fairly easy to program, and there a lot of great community presets to use as a starting point for patches. This will easily replace a bunch of pedals on my board.

I was on the fence, but found a good deal on a used model and am so glad I did.
