BTW, I wanted to make the Meatbox easier to integrate into the entire setup- enter the Aftershock. I set up a patch to use In 2/Out 2 as an effects loop, with the AS completely clean, so, now, I can leave the MB on at all times, and I can turn it on in whatever patch I choose.

I can never get that far with my cables. I have tie-downs but the routing becomes problematic, probably because my cables are either just long enough to make direct runs or so long that I have to have some coils to keep them compact and in place.

Yep. These are the ones that work for me too. They've got a pretty short housing, and the ability to 'flip' the cable 180 degrees is great. The cable is thin enough that it's not a problem if you have some tighter bends. I had a real problem with every other MIDI cable I tried including all the right angle ones, which on pedals often cover other jacks. A note for those who need to pass power by MIDI cable... I don't think they do.

I don’t even need one but I want one of those newer HD Peterson tuners. So cool.

I really like it. I used an original Polytune forever and preferred strobe mode with it. Then my board got really crowded and tight and I moved to one of the newer Polytune Mini's and hated the strobe mode, especially with an 'always on' tuner it was just obnoxiously flashing while playing and was a distraction for me.

This handles the 'always on' situation WAY more gracefully and while I know they only claim to .1 of a cent it feels more precise than the Poly.

There's no 'through functionality' with the Hub and the C4 for updating right now. You have to plug C4 straight into USB/computer.

I realize that. I am just saying that it is confusing that the program prompts a request to update the hub and C4 to versions that are not currently available. I found out after trying it that the C4 was not compatible through the hub.

Nice collection of GD books in the background! The Rock Scully book (Living with the Dead) is so funny I had to read it twice. Its worth getting if you don't have it. The Bill Graham book is also amazing. What a life.

Ah, an early 70s fan. I was going to shows from 84 to early 1989, but my real love is across the 70's range. Some of the memoirs and retrospectives make me pretty sad too. Some of the behind the scenes stuff about Jerry and his addiction are really grim.

I sort of rekindled my interest after having been burnt out on the scene when the 50th Anniversary stuff came up. I ended up flying out to California for the Santa Clara reunion shows, since I had never been to any of the West Coast shows and only having seen stuff in the Atlantic/New England area.

The books I was most psyched to get were the Deadbase 50 and the two tapers' compendiums...Anyone who has a mind for 'cataloging' will understand! I also really miss the early days of the Live Music Archive when it was free game to download ALL the really clean boards that had hit the public. I have a few storage boxes of burned CD's of the choicer stuff.
