Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

It can work with hub, you can send it CC messages but the hub won’t yet recall scenes with the c4.

Can you clarify what functions will work with the C4 and the hub? For example, I have a Soleman coming in any day now and would like to be able to switch between different patches involving my whole pedalboard. Is this something that the C4 will be able to do since you said it can receive CC messages?

All cc messages will work, hub just won’t recognize it for scenes is all, or in the editor.

I really wish more of the video demos of the C4 used what the majority of bass players would consider usable sounds. (I realize it's for guitar also, but leave that aside for a moment.) Most of the review videos have been guys (it's always guys) making wacky, far-out sounds that nobody would ever want their bass player to make in their band. Mercifully, one or two actually start with answering the question "can you make the synth bass sounds that you might need to cover popular music using synth bass" before devolving into chaos. I'd love to see a demo that went through each of the six factory presets before doing anything else.

Not video, but I can give you this...this is a board/matrix recording from a live show this past weekend, It's got 3 different C4 patches on it.

Track 4: Doghouse (throughout)
Track 16: Who You Follow (all verses)
Track 17: Waves (bridge/breakdown starting at 2:10)

Latest iteration of my board- added the Meatbox, moved the Zuma and Hub underneath, and did my best work to date with cable management. Really happy with how it turned out.

BTW, I wanted to make the Meatbox easier to integrate into the entire setup- enter the Aftershock. I set up a patch to use In 2/Out 2 as an effects loop, with the AS completely clean, so, now, I can leave the MB on at all times, and I can turn it on in whatever patch I choose.

Wow. That board is a funk machine!!! Filters, octaves, synths, bass dirt. Wow.

Really good work on those cables too! I need to do a better job when I redo my board this fall. What kind of MIDI cable are you using from the HX to the grey box next to the C4? It looks like a nice small connector.

I think it would be interesting to load the C4 presets into Spectrum. I know the spectrum have less resources, but it could load everything in filters, distortions, envelopes and LFO's. This way should be more presets available to the Spectrum community. I know some stuff will be unusable because of the lack of the sine and square waves and sequencer and etc, but it will be better than make a copy by hand of the C4 presets.
BTW, would be cool to have at least a sine wave as input on the Spectrum, since its price is so near the price of the C4. I bought it and I regret. I should have bought C4 instead, but at the time of buy I did not know the Spectrum was fully inside the C4...

Is there any room in the code memory of the Spectrum to do this kind of thing?

One Control Hammer cable. I have one going from the HX to the Hub, then another from the Hub to the rehoused Future Impact (the grey box next to the C4).
