Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Even though it pales in comparison this is my meager offering to the pedal board community. This is an attempt at a semi-permanent board for my different bands, studio projects and solo project that I can control or program as needed via computer or netbook. I have all the pedals that accept USB commands wired to a USB hub that I can connect (Zoom, TCE and of course Source Audio).

The signal path is =

TCE Spark Mini > Mosky Loop Box >send -EHX Hot Tubes > EHX NYC BassBalls > Source Audio C4 Synth > Akai UB1 UniBass > EHX Mel9 > TRex Quint Machine > Source Audio Aftershock > Digitech Bass Synth Wah > TCE Sub n Up Mini > return- JohnK FET-F2B (under shelf) > Zoom B3 > Alto TSL215. Gateway Netbook running Neuro Dersktop, Zoom Edit & Share. All on a LYT F16 Pedalboard powered by a 1Spot.

Cool, thanks. I actually don't use it that much either. But it would be nice to be able to. But for the price, I'm not complaining. I'll see how it goes once they get here. They sure do look nice on the HX. That's really all I'm after. Cool look and more functional.

I've read the manual but it was not clear to me if I could use Boss FS-6 to tap tempo for the LFO in the Spectrum/C4. Is this possible? Besides that, is there any other parameters that could be changed with this footswitch?

That footswich will work with our large pedals (Nemesis, Ventris, Collider). It will not work with the small ones, including the C4.

It's true I have one of those, but I haven't tried using it with the C4. If I get a chance, I will! For what i've need it to do though, it's been great.

Well, a Collider is on its way.
Will round out the board for now- have a choice of SA filters in several online carts; have to decide which fits my needs best. Ahh- and probably a second-hand Idiot Blower Box by Christmas.

Oh, and an actual board. With power.

The SA tap switch is gonna be the only off the shelf switch that will work with c4, yes c4 and spectrum do have tap tempo capability. The tap switch manual does have a schematic if you want to modify an existing one, or build a converter into a pedal.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the best way to control the tap tempo into multiple SA devices? In the last week or so I have started to convert my pedal board to mostly SA devices. I have a C4 going into an aftershock, lunar phaser, and then nemesis. I have the hub hooked up too and will be receiving a soleman in a day or 2 depending on how much longer the shipment takes. It looks like the soleman has a tap tempo build in. Will that be sufficient to send a tempo to all of the devices at the same time or should I be looking at getting the SA tempo switch? If so, do I hook the tempo switch into the soleman or via some other way?

You’ll have to enable midi clock on any presets of the lunar in order to control tempo, nemesis can use midi clock or cc 93 for remote tap tempo. And if you set up some cc messages for external footswitch on the aftershock, you can control the second channel with midi messages instead of a tap switch.

I don't foresee needing to sync the clock to the aftershock, but what about the C4? Is there a way to sync the C4 with the other devices using the soleman at the same time?
