I don't foresee needing to sync the clock to the aftershock, but what about the C4? Is there a way to sync the C4 with the other devices using the soleman at the same time?

C4 will sync to clock and cc93, aftershock being a distortion and not time based effect, does not sync to midi clock.

Yeah sorry I misunderstood your part about aftershock with the tempo switch in the previous post. That's good to know the c4 can be synced with the other devices using the soleman. Nows it just a matter of figuring out what all that means when I get my hands on the soleman. I've never really used many midi devices so the whole programming CC's is going to be new to me

The big ones that you will probably use would be cc bypass, delay feedback, mix, dirt level, tempo (or midi clock), expression, c4 there’s lots of things and it’s hard to say what you would given the shear volume of things it can do. The nemesis has the CCs mapped out, c4 just had the few core things mapped, lunar and aftershock you’ll have to use the editor and map out yourself.

And you 3D printed the enclosures?

Yep. Both designs came off on thingiverse though, I can’t take credit for designing them. Had some sky blue left from another project, once I hook up some black pla I’ll reprint the double ones. Not much plastic in them and it’s about $19 for a 1kg spool.

The SA tap switch is gonna be the only off the shelf switch that will work with c4, yes c4 and spectrum do have tap tempo capability. The tap switch manual does have a schematic if you want to modify an existing one, or build a converter into a pedal.

Looking to the schematic now I see why. BTW, that pull-up is really needed? There is none inside?

Definitely something to think about. After the update, will @Adamixoye's MIDI commands and Scenes that he's already got set up (currently separate, I assume) still function the way they did, or will they all have to be reconfigured to save the C4 into the previous Scenes?

Similarly, if the C4 is the only SA pedal I own, will updating the Hub change how I'll have to recall presets? The plan was to just use the Hub as a MIDI pass-through, not having to even worry about scenes. Will that still be an option, or will I now have to save a Scene for each preset I want to recall? Not really a big deal either way I think, just curious.

Apologies in advance if these are "read the manual" kind of questions... I'd probably figure it out pretty quickly if/when I update the Hub, but I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. Been too focused on creating sounds on the C4! ha ha Figured someone here would already know the answer.

I've been under the belief that you can still use the Hub as a pass-through? Something to think about. I also have an Aftershock on the way. Not sure it's my thing, but I figured I'd like to try. I'm not much of a distortion/OD/Fuzz person, but you never know.

You create scenes with the pedals that you want. Just because the C4 is connected to the hub doesn't mean that its settings will be saved in a scene. You use the Neuro editor to manually add the pedal to a scene. Any settings from the last version should still function the same as they did.

You can use the hub as simply a relay for MIDI CC messages. The scenes allow you to use MIDI PC messages.

...theoretically this update will allow the hub to also pass PC instead of CC, so if you've been using a controller and had to use the CC work around to load C4 patches, you can now use the PC which is more convenient.

You might be surprised. I was the same way, but have been revisiting and exploring dirt pedals recently, and it turns out I've been finding some fun ways to use those effects. I had an Aftershock and thought it was great, but passed it along because I felt like I wasn't using the pedal's full potential, and wasn't really a dirt guy at the time. I regret getting rid of it, especially now that I've been exploring MIDI possibilities and have a C4/Hub. I could definitely see revisiting an Aftershock.

I do love my Frazz fuzz, with the voltage starved and the mid/treble cranked into envelope and I've kind of been thinking that I don't really totally love breadth of the distortion options on the C4 to feed the envelopes so I'm thinking of maybe starting to work with that. I also use a TC Spark for 'undistortion' literally I like the gain all the way back for how it dynamically adds texture to my tone. Though I don't suspect this will be in that place.

For the record, I don't own a C4...yet. I had some other purchases in the pipeline and I was pacing myself. But I'm planning on snagging one no later than the holidays.

I've tried to outline my logic before. I do the same thing with my Nemesis---I put it on the 5-pin MIDI and NOT the Hub for this reason. I see the power and logic of doing "scenes" for some people, it's just not how I tend to work---I like thinking of my pedals very individually, and I'd rather set up presets for each pedal and then find ways to combine them on my own. Let's say I have 10 sounds I like on the Nemesis, 10 I like on the C4, and 4 I liked on the Aftershock. That's actually 400 possible sounds. I'm unlikely to use all 400, but I would rather just control all three independently rather than having to decide which combinations I should program into the Hub and keeping a spreadsheet there.

I know there are workarounds like deleting the Hub from a scene after it's been scanned, or unplugging the pedals from the Hub before scanning, or just programming it from the editor with only the pedals I want from the beginning. But I think a relatively simple fix is just to have an option in the editor for "don't save pedals X/Y/etc. in scenes." A one-time option that you could always change your mind on. Seems like it wouldn't be that code intensive in the Hub or the editor.
