Thanks, That is what I thought. If I'm understanding this correctly, I should be able to download your 'wah' patch, install it on the pedal, do the wiring and have your patch working. That didn't happen.

I tested the TRS cable. Now I'll test the exp pedal - it's been on the shelf for ages.

Yes, it should work.

Some expression pedals have a polarity switch so try that as it might be on the wrong setting. You can use the pedal calibration tool in the “cog” tab to check it's working.

You could try setting the pedal CC number to 100 as that is what controls expression in one series pedals. However, as far as I am aware you shouldn’t need to do this as I think this setting is only specifying which CC gets spat out when using the pedal to control something attached to the Hub’s MIDI OUT port.

For the latter two, you specify a start and stop position for the knob(s) you map the expression control to.

For C4, connect the Hub to the pedal via the TRRS cable.

Plug a 1/4” cable into the Hub’s expression input.

In the C4 editor, switch on the “external control section” (near the bottom left of the screen).

Select “Hub/external Midi” as the source on a slot, choose a destination parameter. (Obviously this needs to be a parameter that is in use in your current patch - setting it as “voice 4 pan” would be pointless if voice 4 weren’t switched on.)

Set a minimum and maximum percentage. 0-100 gives full range, 100-0 reverses the sweep direction.

If you want to to have the parameter’s current knob position to be your starting point then you need to divide it’s current value by 256 then multiply by 100 to give the percentage value you’ll need to use as your first value. Enter whatever value you want for the second value to give the desired result (higher if you want the knob value to increase when you press the expression pedal, lower if you want the value to decrease when you press the pedal).

For the Mercury it’s a similar process but instead you only have a limited choice of the the four hardware knobs to map to expression. Then use the dedicated dials to specify the minimum and maximum knob position of each parameter you wish to control.

My brain hurts. Am I correct that this would work with just the C4 pedal and no hub using the appropriate cables? There’s a video on that above.

If you're US based zzounds or sweetwater would likely have one out to you in a matter of days if it's possible to cancel your ongoing order. (I.e. it hasn't left the store yet)

Looking at RogueGuitarShop (not sure if its the same retailer), they don't have the c4 in stock atm.

I’ve ordered from Rogue a few times, and they are often selling pedals they don’t actually have in stock. There was at least one time that I was under the impression that something was in stock when I ordered but ended up having to wait around for because it was actually just on order for them. They definitely aren’t the place to shop if you want super quick turnaround or customer service (which is probably how they sometimes sell stuff cheaper than competitors). They are a legit store though, and you’ll likely get your C4 eventually....

Sometimes I have a hard time passing on a good deal! I should remind myself that service is worth the additional cost, which is often minor in the long run.

I feel you! I did that same thing a few times to save a bit on newly-released pedals (I think I bought two new-release Darkglass pedals from Rogue years back because they were the cheapest option), but the wait wasn’t always worth the savings in my experience

I don't know if you caught a sale price that isn't current at rogue, but $239 seems to be the going rate anywhere I look it up. Unless you paid a great deal less I'd cancel and just go with one of the retailers that has it in stock.

I love me some zzounds.. I mean, if I have the cash I might order from SW, but zzounds lets me finance things even though I made some really stupid decisions as a youngster. I have received some items over night, some after 2 days.. and will again after I pay off what I currently owe them >.<

I had a pretty bad experience last time I ordered from Rogue and haven't ordered from them again. I know sometimes people say the same things about Prymaxe but I've made several orders with them and only had minor issues, all of which were resolved to my satisfaction in a reasonable amount of time.

Rogue has been on my 'not approved' vendor list for a while, and IIRC, it's because of their cancellation policy. Read all the fine print...
