Editor. I do most everything there. I do need to get comfortable with the app for live. I think I know what the issue is now that I have thought on it a bit. I need to move the freq centers of like the top 4 or 5 way back and use the last band in shelving mode. I was trying to,'draw the slope with the 'extra' bands.

I start rolling off at 2 to 3k which is lot earlier than most I expect... that leaves some clutter that I need to learn to ignore ...

Yes, shelving on the top band sounds like a better plan. You don't necessarily need to move the other bands to do that though. You could use band 10 to shelve from 2k and still set say bands 7-9 to cut at frequencies higher than where band 10 is set if you need to further sculpt the rolloff slope.

I think I would go EQ => Aftershock => C4 => time based efx.

Currently my EQ2 is at the end of the chain for cabling /positioning convenience. That will probably be the Mercury Flanger soon.

When I get my EQ2, I'm planning putting it last in my chain. So C4 / Aftershock / Pitch / Mod / Delay / Verb / EQ2.
My rationale is that all the other effects tend to stamp an eq onto the signal path and I'll be using my EQ to pull some of that back or add an EQ to the final tonal output from the rest of the board, ie EQ post board. I'll also be using the extensive expression pedal options with my EQ2 in a hope to control the final output volume. Some of my patches are very hot and it's a constant tweaking on my patches to create a unity gain across all my patches. It also allows me to swell post effects. Swells typically need to be post dirt / pitch / mod but before delays and verbs. So maybe my signal will need to be C4>Dirt>Pitch>Mod>EQ2>Delay>Verbs. I also like the idea of running an EQ2 patch that allows me to use the expression pedal as a wah / sweep filter effect on the end of my chain.
However, because I'm using a Boss ES-5...I can change the order of most of my effects loops anyhow. But I can see ES-8 users putting the EQ2 into their volume effects loop and then dropping this pedal and expression into any part of their signal as they please.

You can put the EQ at the and and anywhere else in the chain simultaneously by using the second input and output and split channel function. Putting the second I/O into the ES-5 will, as you point out, will allow it to be placed at any point in the chain, whilst still having it at the end of the chain too.

Hey everybody,

so I got my C4 a couple of days ago and I'm loving the sounds :thumbsup: However, I have an issue with the editor, or rather with the C4 working with the editor. My Aftershock works fine with the desktop neuro editor. Even doing everything the same as with the Aftershock (original PSU, same USB cable, same USB port), the editor is... sluggish. At best, there is pretty big latency between me turning a knob on the pedal and it showing up on the editor screen. Worse, the more I do (load presets, turn knobs, anything), the more sluggish it gets until eventually the editor just crashes with a spinning rainbow cursor of death. Same every time. It's almost as if I'm overloading some memory buffer that isn't getting cleared. The workaround I've found is plugging in the Aftershock, doing something (anything, really) with it, then plugging the C4 back in.
I've tried on two macs with current OS, both with new installs of the editor and I have done a factory reset of the pedal, same issue.
Is this a known issue? Am I doing something obvious wrong?

I'd really appreciate it if someone in the know could help me with this. @rsmith601 @Gibs210 ?:bassist:
 
Does anyone know who the UK supplier / 1st base is? I'd rather buy it from the horses mouth so to speak. None of my usual UK suppliers have it listed yet, Gak...Gear4 etc
Get in touch with Rich Tone Music in Sheffield. I ordered my C4 with them long before they even listed it on the site and got one of the first ones to come into the UK.

That had not occurred to me I was considering gain balancing berween my active PJ 5 and passive P4's with the second side but pre/post eq may be a better use as I can (and do) gain balance with the bassbone.

This depends on your pedals- only the Nemesis and EQ2 have standard MIDI inputs at this point, so the rest of them need some sort of intermediary. In the case of the C4 and Spectrum, you need a USB MIDI Host controller if you aren't using a Hub- DMC makes one called the MIDI.Ghost and also has MIDI Host-capable USB connection on all of their newest generation MIDI controllers. It seems like the Hub makes the most sense though if you are using several SA pedals, as this was what it was designed to do and is streamlined to do it (also I personally find that utilizing the USB connectors on a pedalboard is a bit of a pain).

I have a DMC Micro for my Spectrum, and Le Bass and the EQ2 both have 5pin In/Thru Ports.

I was just speaking to the SA pedals. It sounds like you are good without a Hub with your setup. The Morningstar will connect directly to all the pedals except for the Spectrum, and can send messages to the DMC Micro to control the Spectrum.
 
Will the MC6 "learn" scenes like the hub will do?
No- that is something that only the Hub can do. The MIDI connection between the Morningstar and your SA pedals will only be 1-way messages to tell the SA pedals to changes parameters- like recalling stored presets on each pedal, or programming specific parameter changes or expression routing (but you will have to program these by hand). If you want to use scenes, then you will need a Hub.

I migrated to flattening the other bands and then beginning my roll off at about 3k with the top band in shelving. It works OK. Seems like I can only get 18 or 20 db down The response gets lumpy using the other bands due to mixing bell and shelving. What I would really like would be super steep curves (like 56 db/octave) on the top and bottom bands so I can implement a 'none shall pass' hpf/lpf setup.

I am spoiled with the DSP in my PA rig ;-)

There is a dedicated high pass filter with adjustable frequency to cut the low end off.
