Had another mammoth C4 session this weekend. Loads of new patches uploaded.

So I got my DC7 mounted under my board earlier today and then had to go to work. Back from work, I hook up all of my SA pedals to their own isolated power supply and daisy chain the soleman with the hub. Turn everything on and every powers up except the soleman. As I'm checking the connection, I start to smell burning electronics and quickly turn everything off. The hub works on its own but for whatever reason the soleman will not turn on with power from the DC7 and just ends up smoking and smelling of burning. Any ideas why that might be? I ended up just plugging in the soleman to its own adapter instead of using the DC7 and it luckily still works.

The only two things I can think- are you sure the outlet on the DC7 is set to 9V? And are you sure you were using one of the standard negative tip power cables? Did you try swapping outlets?

Also are you sure you weren't using something like a voltage doubler? Not sure how those are wired internally, but something could've been flipped between the 3 possible connections that caused this. I run a powermax (dc7 clone for eventide) with my board and both my solemans powered up fine, and they're using a 5way cable with 2 hubs and a reflex for power. Everything works great.

@rsmith601 I just had a thought - when users click on the "burn" button in the neuro editor/app does that count as a download in the statistics shown for creators? If not, I wonder if it ought to be as I think there may be plenty of users who just burn patches they like straight to the pedal but never download them to their library; we currently don't know. (That's what I keep telling myself for the patches of mine that have had no downloads anyway.)

I like it at the 26 sec mark when the carrier note is an octave lower... big and subby sounding. Presumably it was a tracking glitch but it sounds great. Would it work to make that change in the editor?

With all these patches, do play with the knobs and expression pedal as I've programmed lots of variation into the patch. This one uses expression to pan to the second processor where you just hear the percussion effects (not demonstrated in the clip).

I'd suggest to anyone auditioning my my patches to also tweak the two control knobs before dismissing the sounds.

I don't know. The only thing I am sure of is the like button. Jesse would know.

Man I wouldn't presume to dismiss any of the sounds you've created. I'm way overdue for some C4 time when life gives me the space... you keep adding new patches faster than I can keep up

I meant that more generally rather than you in particular (it just happened to be in a reply to you) - I imagine people often click a sound, have a quick strum and move on if it doesn't grab them. I am guilty of this myself sometimes too. I simply meant that several of my sounds might sound quite vanilla at first but often do quite interesting things when you move the expression pedal and/or the two control knobs.

Yes, I've had quite a spree this weekend. Hope you manage to get some time on the C4 soon.

I believe that was my issue. I did have the standard negative tip power cable plugged in but I had it set at 18v instead of 9v. I changed it soon after and found that it works fine now. Do you think the burnt smell is going to have any issues in the future or should it be OK? Everything seems to be working fine with the soleman.

What's the smallest, least expensive add on that will allow me to have exp control on both the hxs and the c4? Will the SA hub allow this? Thanks in advance.

I am way behind sampling your creations, every time my C4 gets switched on I seem to create a new sound of my own and start recording a groovy nasty new piece. On the plus side I should have enough to release soon.

The Hub will let you attach a single exp pedal to both the HX and the C4? Interesting... I have the Dunlop Mini as an expression as well, and will be quite interested to give this a try. I had my Dunlop connected to my HXFX on my main board, but switched it over to the Hub for my C4/Spectrum. The only thing I could think is to connect the Dunlop to the Hub, and then go from the Hub to both the HX and the C4 via SA cables...? Will give it a try a.s.a.p. and see if the HX can translate the signal from the Hub.

You can use a trs splitter cable on the input and output the dunlop to use it as a second expression control. I use my dunlop mini this way.
