Having 128 internal presets is the way forwards
It’s definitely useful, especially for anyone using a single pedal. It’s also useful for calling up favourite presets to combine as part of a scene. However, I wouldn’t ever want to give up the scene capability as being able to further tweak the recalled individual-pedal presets and then combine these into a single recallable scene is genius and very easy. If whole-scene sharing becomes a reality then this will be incredibly powerful.

I've uploaded my Approximation of the Mastotron on bass to the SA cloud. It's called GMC Mastotron - Gated Fuzz. It's my 1st attempt at approximating this pedal on my Ultrawave, so I might revise it in a few days with a version that uses morph expression between two specific settings. Currently, I've enabled the Midi Expression to dial in an approximation of the pedal's Tilt EQ, which is curious that it's a EQ tilt with 2 different frequency centres. The 7 Diode Harder Gate sounded most like the distortion characteristics of the Mastotron...however it's not quite the same, but it's the closest I've got so far.
The analogue pedal is very organic and changes it's character a lot depending on the source signal and how hard one hits it. Both it's EQ responce, grit and compression all change a lot depending on it's input. So it sounds vey different between basses or if I pop a wet octaver in front of it. So I've set my patch to emulate my default Mastotron finger style playing sound. This patch on my Ultrawave, it sounds pretty much the same regardless of which bass I'm using (and I have a few!). However, if I want to use an Octave wet only input, I need to change various settings to match the analogue pedal's sound. So I've set the expression pedal to vary the tilt. If I shove the expression pedal to about 80% max and nudge up the treble and sustain to about 1'oclock, I get a similar sound that I get from the analogue pedal in tat context. If I want to add a chorus to this glorious noise...then I need to max out the expression to 100% and nudge the Sustain and Treble to about 2'oclock.
If you're not using Expression over Midi, you'll need to disable that feature and twiddle with the B/M/T controls to suit.
To my ear, it's not an exact copy, but it's a very close approximation. It might even be close enough for me to finally drop the Mastotron from my board. I have a Titan II pedal that's just was curious...so I might see if I can model that pedal into two morph settings too.

Mastodon preset is HUGE!! Well done. Many people wanted that from the Aftershock, but it was not possible. Now it is. :)

Hopefully it's in the same ball park that you were expecting. When using an OC-2, I needed to max out the expression pedal, punch up the sustain and treble controls a bit too and it sounded close to my A:B. There's a dramatic EQ shift and increase in Compression with the analogue pedal. We can only simulate that response. When I get the opportunity, I'll make a 2nd set of EQ and Compression for this patch and use the morphing feature to fade between them. Hopefully that'll give us an approximation of how this pedal reacts to the different inputs. The Ultrawave's expression pedal is limited to three controls, and in this instance we need to be able to vary 4 EQ settings. Where as the morph feature will allow fading between every parameter / setting.

I have a mkII mastotron patch that's a bit better, but my USB cable has taken a dive...so it'll be a few days until Amazon can get me another. Interestingly, I accidentally left my Aftershock on (in my chain) with a light overdrive and that coupled with my patch, pretty much nailed the exact grit structure sound for fingerstyle Mastotron. Ultrawave into my Aftershock.
Now that my Mastotron is likely coming off my board and into my reference box of delights...what to pop in it's space....suddenly...getting a yearning for a Spectrum....unless Source Audio have anything lurking in the rumours folder?

Why get a Spectrum if you already have a C4?
 
Is anyone having problems with the Ultra-Wave keeping the midi channel assignment after power-down. Best I can tell is it is going back to channel 1.

Here is what happens:

Boot up the pedalboard. The UW does not respond to midi commands from my Morningstar MC-8 controller. Then I connect the pedalboard to my computer and launch Neuro desktop app. (I have a USB hub under my pedalboard that is connected to all USB capable pedals. ) When I click on settings for the UW, the display comes up as channel 4. After that is starts responding to midi commands from the MC-8 and continues to do so under the next power up.

I think what is happening is that the UW boots with midi channel set to 1. When I connect it to the neuro desktop app and launch the configuration panel, that action sets the channel to 4. It's a guess anyway. Anyone else able to set and save the midi channel on the UW to something other than 1?

I've just posted my GMC - Mastrotron MKIII attempt...it's now got a morph control (mapped to expression) that pulls back the compressor and morphs into a slightly different EQ and clipping engine. I've noticed the my Mastotron behaves more like an overdrive fuzz than a gated fuzz when I put an OC2 before it. So my morphed clipping engine is 3 - Basic Offset. This to my ears sounds more like the grit structure, although it's not a perfect match. I've used the noise gate threshold at 99 and filter at a high 65hz to simulate the gated of the 7 -Diode Hard Gate. Which kind of makes the other clipping modes behave like a gated clip. This is the closest I've been to getting my 2 main Mastotron sounds out of any digital box. Again...you might find this sounds totally different to your settings!
I suspect that a twin cascading transistor circuit design presents a complex mathematical equation that is hard to model. I think the ideal clip model for the mastotron is somewhere between 3 - basic offset and 4 - silicone positive. Both the Mastotron / Woolley Mammoth and Spaceman Titan II fuzz use this kind of cascading transistor overdriven clipping vs using an op-amp, LED or other diode clip (silicon or Germanium).
So out of curiosity, I thought I'd go back to my Aftershock and see if I can map these settings on it. I set the threshold of the gate in similar ways. However I have to use stock distortion models which are great btw, but the Aftershock doesn't allow direct control over the type of clipping model, the compression parameters and the very extensive EQ section that the Ultrawave has. So I could approximate my Ultrawave settings but not much more. For reference the Fuzzface with a heavy noise gate came closest. But the EQ is quite hard to nail specifically.

As a personal note, the EQ stages on the Ultrawave are very close to my own personal "nirvana" for a preamp.
The global wide three band eq, stacked on top of a 7/8 band Graphic...with adjustable HPF and LPF...plus a fully adjustable compressor....ignoring all the other features...that alone is seismic. I was slowly designing my own analogue preamp that pretty much did this too....no point now...I have an Ultrawave.
You could in theory use channel 2 as a clean EQ & compressor channel.
There is a LOT in the Ultrawave besides the extensive distortion / multiwave distortion, tremolo and multiband trem options.
