Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

I launched Neuro desktop app and it said there was an update. It did this twice. I clicked the yellow download button. It started the update. At the end it said there was an error. Then I tried it again. Same thing. Start the app. See the yellow ring around the udpate button. I click it. It starts the update. Then it fails at the very end after validation. I am currently at version 1.09.

Sweet stuff...My Ultrawave now has 27 patches loaded.

Time for some great patch call outs.

These are my loaded top six:

1. King of Dethrone by nikopappas - a nice light overdrive (not quite as nice as the aftershock, but close)
2. Snappy Compressor came pre-loaded on my Ultrawave - A nice simple compressor.
3. Gated Fuzz by dalo - Really close sound to a maxed out Titan II fuzz. Expression fades out Ch1 Drive, while fading Morph
4. [Bleep BLIP] by nikopappas - a great step sequencer sound. I have my Expression mapped to the LFP rate
5. Prismatic Brilliance'21 by alvarhansobass - Hard to describe, Expresson mapped to the Morph Ch1
6. GMC Mastotron -Gated Fuzz III by me - As close as I can currently get a Mastotron sound on bass.

Other great call outs, I'm enjoying that may change my top 6 soon:

QM Okto Nojs 3 by Quatschmacher - very nice! Optional OC-2 before this and a Quad Chorus after and it's got it's own unique synth sound.
You're D by dalo - A first take You're the Doom emulation. Not bad at all.
GMC Mastotron - Gated Fuzz by me - My first stab at a Mastotron sound on bass. I like it. Again..the expression does a lot and use with a post chorus and an OC2 pure wet before.
Dual Comp by Nathannavarro - Nice to see the first Dual Compressor on the list, sounds very much like a Trace Elliot Comp. Nice to have control over the gain on either band's Compression.
In the RED by Nathannavarro - a Slightly synthy Overdrive
Electron by Nathannavarro - A gated Fuzz tone, like a Mastotron. Again...Get your OC-2 in front of this and Quad Chorus after...
Pulstar by Nathannavarro - I love this patch, I spent about 20 mins with this patch this morning. I use expression to control the LFO rate and the Sustain knob really changes the dynamics. Again...use that OC-2

The Ultrawave excels at synth drive sounds. Putting a fully wet OC-2 before it adds a layer of deepness that is a lot of fun to play with. Putting a Gemini Quad Chorus (with the speed right down) after adds a really nice bit of movement. I would also say that getting an expression pedal with the Ultrawave opens up a lot of options, particularly for transitioning between two morph sounds or adjusting the LFO rate for the sequencer type of sounds. I've barely delved into the multiband tremolo...there's so many deep and wonderful corners of this pedal. Like my C4, Lunar and Aftershock....I'm not sure I could live without this pedal on my board.

Thanks for the mention. I hope to get more time to get some patches up in the coming week or so. Haven’t had much time for it lately as I’ve been more focused on testing/features/interface aspects of the Ultrawave. I have also been working on a big Future Impact update since December which launched yesterday. (I’m glad I’m furloughed from my day job otherwise I might never have managed all the projects I took on.) It’s an exciting week.

Can’t wait to hear more about the ultra wave. I wish I was more involved than I am. Not being in a band doesn’t help. I’m apart of a couple “projects” atm. But with COVID still and just getting older, guys having kids, getting married, well, bands are getting tougher and tougher to come by these days. I know for me, when I was in a band, I was a lot more inspired to play and get my pedal fun going.

Itll be cool to live vicariously through all y’all haha

Getting married and having kids is completely overrated!!! The Ultrawave, is not. :)

Man, I am married with kids and haven't played in a band in 10+ years, but I still love playing on my own and getting new gear. Source Audio has made that a whole lot of fun over the past several years for me.

Cool thing with kids is they can become musicians as well. My teenage daughter is a singer and is starting to play bass and my pre-teen son has picked up drums, so I may have my own "house band" one day soon...

Lol...I'm currently on Wife 2.0 who is less needy, less harsh and far more appreciative of my efforts than Wife 1.0 who left in a blaze of anger / hysteria, causing deep family issues and emotional trauma in both my self and my kids. It's taken me about 10 years to rebuild after the tornado of destruction that Wife 1.0 caused. I now have a happy home, a happy wife, a large bass collection, a nice job and a very nice pedal board. I'm still putting my Lutherie workshop back together. A nice...but aging sports car, I run a mental health support group and I'm a leader in my local Church. Kids are grown up and either married or off at university. At home, it's just me, wife 2.0 and a collection of sweet basses.

So my answer is...why not have both?

I'm a little behind the curve on Source Audio news currently and TB search functions as well as google aren't really helping me out.

There are a couple retailers with two different versions of the Ultrawave listed for pre-order. I don't find any mention of it @ sourceaudio.net. Just that there was a guitar and bass version of the SB MWBD.

Chicago Music Exchange has them both listed as well.

Am I confused or should I be looking forward to ordering the green one?

Sorry if this has already been brought up.. this thread is massive.

Green is for bass. Pedal hardware is identical other than the bass version has a "mix" knob instead of "sustain" and a different colour. All knobs are assignable so it's only a cosmetic difference. I guess the factory presets in the bass version will be different but all are fully replaceable anyway.

I love blue more than green. I plan to get the non-bass specific version.

3 things:
1) Big update to the Neuro Desktop and Ultrawave firmware coming today in anticipation of the official product launch tomorrow.
2) Lots of Ultrawave videos should go live tomorrow. I have not seen any or them and I am excited!
3) Have any of the bets users delved into the morphing capabilities of the Ultrawave?
