Try a reboot of your EQ2 when all the other pedals are on. See if there's any change, then try a reboot of your hub and see if that make a change. The SA support guys are very good, so stick with them and Jesse will get to the bottom of this.

Yes it's frustrating, but you'll get there soon enough. The first step is understanding why the problem is happening, then a solutions can be looked for. I use a Boss ES-5 as my midi controller and I have some patches that send midi patch change via the Hub to my C4, EQ2 and Ultrawave. The same patch also sends Midi patch change to activate scenes on my Neuro hub for my Aftershock and Lunar. I have one patch where it was easier to build a scene for 4 of my SA pedals and call that specific scene up. So both routes can and do work well and offer a lot of flexibility. We just need to get it working for your system too. My EQ2 is currently independent to my Neuro hub and jacked into my ES-5 via the 5 pin midi leads, because I need the EQ's input socket for an SA Expression pedal later this month. My ES-5 only has one Expression over midi input and I'm starting to need at least 2 expression pedals.

So are you saying that the settings shown in the editor at the point a scene aren’t reflecting what’s going in in the pedal? Are you saying that the settings change visually in the editor but that no audible change is heard?

If the hub is hooked up to the computer you should be able to see which scene is selected in the right-hand pane when you change scenes with the Morningstar controller. You can also get the controller to display the current PC message number by using on of the counters (use “%Fx” in the name line of a preset and replace the x with whatever counter you want to use (there are 16 global counters in the Morningstar pedals)).

If Source Audio were to do a modern update of the Yamaha UD Stomp (its an 8-tap delay pedal what can make just bout any time-based sounds you can imagine), then we all win.

I used to have one of the Yamahas before selling it to help fund my house purchase and loves the sounds if not some of the trickier aspects of its user interface. I think the concept it ripe for a return to a single pedal platform, given that other multi-tap plugins are already in the market in DAW software.

Yeah, the Desktop Editor is not giving any feedback when I switch scenes over MIDI. On my MC8 right now I am testing with a “Clean” preset (PC 0 for the first scene) and an “Octave” preset (PC 1, which also uses the C4). So I can tell which scene I have selected based on the C4 being on/off.

It might be worth trying another USB port and cable, not all cables and ports are equal. I've also found that some USB hubs can mess with the data flow too.

Why happens when you create a new scene on the pc, choosing “use attached pedals”, pressing “read all pedals” and then saving?

That seems to work too! Thanks! I was using the “Add New Pedal”, then pressing “Read All Pedals”, which still loaded the current settings, but wasn’t loading the scene right when I switched to it. But creating a scene using attached pedals works!

A quick MIDI question for everyone: with the increase and decrease presets CCs assigned to the C4 (or UW as well), is it possible to limit the range of selectable presets? For instance, I have 12 presets saved on my C4 and once I reach the 12th, I’d like to go back to preset 1 on my next increase. No big deal if it’s not possible, just wondering. Thanks!

Yes. Morningstar controllers do this kind of thing with ease. Others probably do too.

Hey Sorcerers Society!

Is there anyone here that can interpret pedal schematics? I'm hoping to accurately recreate a Brassmaster circuit using the Ultrawave. I'm a novice when it come to interpreting schematics for audio gear so I'm having trouble interpreting how all of the components are affecting the audio signal, specifically what the waveshape and speed of the carrier signal for the diode ring mod is, what frequencies are being effected in the filtering stage, if and how the tone is being shaped at the front before the clipping stage, and if there is any addition clipping going on after going through the ring mod. Could any of you help with this?

I thought this thread would be a better place to ask than a DIY pedal forum since I figured everyone here would be more sympathetic to my plight of recreating a circuit with a SA pedal than they might be.

Just picked up a HX Stomp off Reverb to play around with. Now time to figure out how to integrate my SA board with it; currently have the Soleman, Aftershock, Gemini, C4, UW, and the EQ2.

The HX Stomp will also allow me to take off the DL4, as well as an old v1 Boomerang. I haven't messed around with amp / cab modeling since...my old Korg AX3000B, so this should be fun.

I took that photo immediately after finishing the last cable, I need to get an action shot... but for now I have a photo of my previous setup all powered up to get an idea of what the covers look like (and the complete mess that’s been replaced by Source Audio):
